History of Magister

Magister Sistema Caffè was founded in July 1997 in Casorezzo, just outside Milan, by a group of managers and technicians who'd already spent years building coffee machines for other companies. From the start, the founders set out to do something most manufacturers in the space didn't: design and engineer every machine themselves, rather than assembling it from parts made elsewhere. That commitment to in-house engineering, paired with a promise to keep the traditional craftsmanship of Made in Italy manufacturing intact, has defined the company ever since.

The product line grew in stages, each model marking a technical step forward. Magister's first machine, the System, set the company's early standard for build quality and durability. The Kappa and KXP followed with more advanced engineering and design. The Stilo and Stilo L then carried Magister into international markets with the automatic, volumetric-dosing line that Coffeeionado carries today — the ES60, ES70, and ES100. On the higher end, the F 2006 introduced capacitive touch controls, the F 2006 Life added full touchscreen programming, and the F 2006 MultiBoiler — the company's current flagship — gives every group its own thermally independent boiler with precise, per-group temperature and timing control.

That engineering-first approach has earned Magister real recognition in Italy: the financial newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore once called its products "coffee machines by true masters," and the city of Milan awarded the company a Mercurio d'Oro (Golden Mercury) for entrepreneurial merit. Nearly three decades later, Magister machines are sold across major international markets, still designed and built in Casorezzo.
