The VBM Domobar Super Electronic Dual Profiler combines electronic shot dosing, a variable-speed gear pump with ten saved seven-stage pressure profiles, an included grouphead flow-control valve, and separate copper brew and steam boilers.

Product Features

Electronic 58 mm E61 Group

The machine uses a True VBM E61 58 mm chromed-brass grouphead with thermosyphon circulation that keeps the grouphead constantly heated by circulating boiler water. That continuous circulation stabilizes group temperature for repeatable extractions and reduces the need for frequent flushes or temperature fiddling.

PID-Controlled Copper Dual Boilers

A dedicated 0.5 L coffee boiler and 2.0 L steam/hot-water boiler let you dial in espresso while retaining steam power for milk drinks at home.

Programmable Pressure + Manual Flow Control

Ten seven-stage gear-pump pressure profiles plus an included preinstalled manual E61 flow-control valve give you two ways to shape extraction.

3.5-Inch Pressure-Profiling Touchscreen

The 3.5" Digital Touch Display stores up to 10 pump pressure profiles (each with seven stages) and lets you program seconds-on for dosing, ECO mode, programmable on/off schedules, water-tank level alerts and extraction timers. Having these settings on a touchscreen makes repeatable dialing-in and daily automation straightforward for a well-equipped espresso station at home.

Automatic Electronic Dosing

Four programmable drink selections use electronic group controls and a flow meter to stop dosing, rather than the manual E61 brewing lever of the Super Digital.

Steam and Hot Water

Separate milk-steaming and hot-water outlets support flat whites, cappuccinos, Americanos, and other drinks without switching brew boiler modes.

The Coffeeionado Take

Straight answers, before you buy.

Who's It For

  • You enjoy comparing recipes: Experiment with saved pressure profiles and repeatable programmable dosing.
  • You fine-tune pressure curves: Use the variable-output gear pump to compare different pressure curves with the same coffee.
  • Espresso and milk drinks together: Separate boilers allow simultaneous extraction and steaming without single-boiler mode changes.

It's Right For You If

  • You have an accurate espresso grinder and enjoy recording settings and comparing how different pressure profiles affect taste.
  • You want touch controls and repeatable dosing instead of manually timing every stage of extraction.
  • You are comfortable with an E61 warm-up routine and want the choice of a tank or a fixed water connection.

Things to Consider

  • Pressure profiling takes practice: The touchscreen can save up to 10 profiles with as many as seven stages each. Start with a repeatable basic recipe before exploring multi-stage pressure curves.
  • Allow an E61 warm-up: Plan approximately 30–45 minutes for the brewing group to reach full temperature stability.
  • Compact brew boiler, separate steam power: The 0.5 L brew boiler focuses on precision, while the dedicated 2.0 L steam boiler handles milk preparation.
  • Choose your water supply: The 1.8 L reservoir gives placement flexibility, or a direct water-line connection suits a permanent home coffee station.

Our Take

The Super Domobar Electronic turns pressure into another variable you can deliberately adjust and repeat. Its gear pump and touchscreen are the real distinction: they let you reproduce a profile rather than trying to imitate it by hand every morning. With separate boilers and a familiar E61 group, it pairs that experimentation with practical everyday espresso and milk-drink preparation.

    Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

    Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

    Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

    What This Means

    • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
    • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
    • Improper water can damage internal components over time

    Machine-Specific Considerations

    • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
    • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

    Product FAQ

What is the difference between the VBM Super Electronic and Super Digital Dual Profilers?

The Super Electronic uses automatic electronic/volumetric dosing: its controls, solenoid valve, and flow meter start extraction and stop the programmed drink amount. The Super Digital is semi-automatic and uses a manual E61 brewing lever on the right side to start and stop the shot. Both share separate copper boilers, a touchscreen, ten saved pressure profiles, and included manual E61 flow control.

Does the Super Electronic have the same E61 brewing lever as the Super Digital?

No. The Super Electronic does not use the right-side E61 lever to initiate extraction. Instead, electronic controls operate a solenoid valve and a flow meter helps measure the programmed dose. The top-mounted flow-control valve may look like a lever in photographs, but it adjusts water flow; it does not serve as the Super Digital's brewing lever.

What is the adjustable knob on top of the Super Electronic grouphead?

That is the preinstalled manual E61 flow-control valve, not a shot-starting lever. It lets you adjust water flow through the coffee puck during extraction. You will see a similar control on top of the Super Digital's grouphead because both models include manual flow control.

Do both VBM Dual Profilers offer programmable pressure profiling and flow control?

Yes. The Super Electronic and Super Digital both support ten programmable gear-pump pressure profiles with up to seven stages and a separate manual grouphead flow-control valve. The distinction is shot dosing: Electronic can stop a programmed drink automatically; Digital relies on its right-side lever to stop extraction.

How does automatic dosing work on the Super Electronic?

You select and start the desired drink through the electronic controls. A flow meter measures the water delivered for the programmed dose, and the solenoid-operated brewing system stops extraction based on the dose setting. When using a timed pump-pressure profile, set the dosing program and pressure-profile timing to work together so the machine does not continue extraction after the programmed pressure stages finish.

Can I stop a Super Electronic shot manually?

Yes. The electronic interface offers a manual stopping control when you want to end a shot yourself. The distinction is that you stop it through the electronic controls, not by lowering a mechanical E61 brew lever. For routine drinks you can use a saved automatic dosing program.

Which VBM Dual Profiler should I buy?

Choose the Super Electronic if you want programmable coffee doses and automatic shot stopping—particularly useful when several people use the machine or you're also steaming milk. Choose the Super Digital if you prefer the physical E61 lever and like deciding when every shot ends. Pressure profiles and manual flow control are available on both.

Can the Super Electronic brew espresso and steam milk together?

Yes. Separate PID-managed 0.5 L copper brew and 2.0 L copper steam boilers allow espresso brewing and milk preparation in the same workflow without waiting to switch between boiler temperature modes.
