Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

The Vetro 3 Group is built around one engineering decision that matters more than anything else at high volume: a single 18L copper boiler feeding three independent thermosyphon heat exchangers, one per group. That means each station holds its own stable brew temperature regardless of what the other two are doing — three baristas pulling shots simultaneously with no group stealing thermal headroom from another. Layer four-program volumetric dosing on top and every extraction is consistent without anyone watching the clock. As a high volume machine, the Vetro does the technical work so your team can focus on the service. The tempered glass finish is what the customer sees — the copper internals are why the coffee is the same at 8am and 11am.

Product Features

Three Brew Groups

The 3 Groups configuration lets multiple baristas work simultaneously to maintain high throughput during rush periods. The product is listed as 'Number of Groups: 3 Groups,' making it suited for busy cafés and hospitality environments.

Copper Boiler With Heat Exchangers

A copper boiler paired with three independent heat exchangers keeps brew temperatures stable across all groups so shots stay consistent under heavy use. The spec sheet lists a copper boiler and 'three independent heat exchangers'—ideal for sustained service without long recovery times.

Dual Rotational Steam Wands

Two rotational steam outlets and a quarter turn steam knob provide fast, repeatable milk steaming for continuous latte and cappuccino service. The machine includes '2 Wands,' 'two rotational steam outlets,' and a 'quarter turn steam knob' for straightforward steam control.

Single-Push Backflush

Backflushes with a single push button to simplify group-head cleaning between shifts and reduce downtime for maintenance. That one-button backflush makes routine cleaning faster and keeps groups ready during long service runs.

Illuminated Controls & Workspace

Backlit buttons and an illuminated work area improve visibility for quick, accurate operation during busy service or low-light front-of-house shifts. The listing specifically calls out 'backlit buttons' and an 'illuminated work area' for easier, safer workflow.

Tempered Glass And Stainless Steel

A sleek tempered glass design combined with a stainless steel cup rail and back panel delivers a durable, hygienic exterior that reads professional in a café. The product highlights a 'tempered glass design' plus 'stainless steel cup rail and back panel' for both style and resilience.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Design-forward cafés and boutique hospitality — Tempered glass and stainless steel with illuminated controls give this machine real front-of-house presence
  • High-volume coffee bars that value aesthetics — 500+ shots daily with capacitive button controls and a clean, modern interface that looks as good as it performs
  • Operators who want Italian commercial reliability with a contemporary look — Copper heat exchanger and Italian manufacturing deliver proven internals in a striking modern package

Right For You If:

  • Your daily volume is 550–700 drinks and you want a 3-group machine that doubles as a visual centerpiece for your bar.
  • You prefer the tactile simplicity of capacitive button controls over touchscreen menus — less to go wrong, faster to operate during a rush.
  • You have a 220V outlet (NEMA 6-30) and either a direct water line access for your setup.

Things to Consider:

  • The copper boiler is durable and heats efficiently, but copper requires more attentive water chemistry management than stainless steel — invest in proper filtration from day one.
  • Capacitive buttons are sleek but lack the tactile feedback some baristas prefer during high-speed service — worth testing in person if your team is used to physical switches.

Our Take:

The Vetro is one of the few 3-group machines that genuinely looks like a piece of modern design rather than a utilitarian appliance — and the copper HX internals deliver the goods where it counts. If your café has a design-conscious aesthetic and your volume stays in the 500-700 range, this is a machine that works as hard as it looks.

    Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

    Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

    Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

    What This Means

    • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
    • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
    • Improper water can damage internal components over time

    Machine-Specific Considerations

    • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

    Product FAQ

Is the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group an automatic volumetric machine, or do I have to stop the shot manually?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group is an automatic volumetric espresso machine. Each group has programmable dose buttons that automatically start and stop the shot based on the volume you set, so baristas get consistent extraction without manually timing every shot.

Does the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group use a rotary pump, and how loud is it during operation?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group is equipped with a commercial‑grade rotary pump designed for continuous café use. Rotary pumps are typically quieter and more consistent than vibration pumps, so noise is modest for a commercial machine and well‑suited to front‑of‑house installation.

What regular maintenance does the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group require, and how often should it be serviced?

Daily, you should backflush the groups with detergent, purge and wipe the steam wands, and clean the drip tray and portafilters. Weekly, remove and soak baskets and portafilters, and check gaskets and shower screens. Professionally, most cafés schedule a full preventive service every 6–12 months, which includes descaling (if needed), replacing gaskets and screens, checking pump pressure, safety valves, and electronics. Proper water treatment can extend the interval between major descaling services.

Does the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group offer pre‑infusion, and is it adjustable?

Yes, the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group includes a pre‑infusion function to gently soak the coffee puck before full pressure is applied. On most configurations, pre‑infusion is managed through the electronic control system; the exact degree of adjustability (time and pressure) can vary by model revision, so check the technical manual or your dealer’s listing for the specific settings available.

Are the steam wands cool‑touch or no‑burn, and how many steam wands does it have?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group comes with two commercial steam wands plus a dedicated hot‑water outlet. The steam wands are designed with thermal insulation for reduced external temperature, often described as ‘cool‑touch’ or ‘no‑burn,’ which helps minimize the risk of burns and makes milk residue easier to wipe off. Confirm with your distributor for the exact wand specification of the model you’re purchasing.

What type and size of power supply does the Gaggia Vetro 3 Group require?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group is a high‑power commercial machine requires a dedicated 220–240 V, 60 Hz electrical circuit, with 30 amperage room. You’ll need a NEMA 6-30 commercial plug. Always review the machine’s data plate and consult a licensed electrician to confirm breaker size and wiring before installation.

What boiler configuration does it use—single boiler or heat‑exchanger—and can it brew and steam at the same time?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group uses a large commercial boiler with heat‑exchanger circuits for each group head. This HX design allows you to brew espresso and steam milk simultaneously without a noticeable drop in performance, which is essential for high‑volume café environments.

Does the machine include built‑in water filtration or softening, or do I need a separate system?

The Gaggia Vetro 3 Group does not typically include a full built‑in water filtration or softening system. You are strongly advised to install an external water treatment system (filter and softener or appropriate cartridge) on the incoming water line to protect the boiler and group components from scale and to maintain beverage quality. Many warranty terms require suitable water treatment.
