and hundreds of cafés, restaurants and offices.

The G60 is a compact, discontinued-but-active-sale on-demand espresso grinder with 60 mm flat steel burrs and two programmable timed doses. It is best positioned for home, office, low-volume commercial, or secondary-bar duty—not as a high-volume primary café grinder.

Product Features

Two Programmable Timed Doses

Electronic single- and double-dose timing provides repeatable on-demand portions; this is not a manual-only grinder.

60 mm Flat Steel Burrs

The 60 mm flat stainless-steel burr set and approximately 10 kg/hour nominal productivity give the G60 useful speed in a compact platform.

Stepless Micrometric Adjustment

Continuous grind adjustment supports fine espresso dialing without fixed detents.

Hands-Free Portafilter Holder

The portafilter holder secures the basket and activates grinding, freeing the operator for another task during the dose.

Compact Commercial Footprint

At roughly 6.5 inches wide, 10.5 inches deep, and 16 inches high, the G60 fits counters that cannot accept a full-size café grinder.

Standard U.S. Power

The U.S. specification uses 110–120 V, approximately 220 W, a 2 A draw, and a NEMA 5-15 connection.

Our honest read

The Coffeeionado Take

Straight answers, before you buy.

Who's It For

  • Serious home users who want commercial-style workflow in a compact footprint.
  • Offices and hospitality counters with modest espresso demand.
  • Cafés using it for decaf or another low-volume coffee.

It's Right For You If

  • You need a compact on-demand espresso grinder for home, office, or a low-volume commercial counter.
  • You want timed single and double doses, stepless adjustment, and hands-free portafilter activation.

Things to Consider

  • Nuova Simonelli lists the G60 in its discontinued equipment archive, so confirm parts and availability before purchase.
  • The 300 g hopper is intentionally compact and will require frequent refilling in commercial use.
  • It is a timed-dose grinder, not grind-by-weight, and it is not intended as a high-volume primary café grinder.

Our Take

The G60 makes sense as a compact decaf grinder, an office grinder, or a prosumer machine. Its two timed doses and commercial-style portafilter workflow are genuine strengths, but its 300 g hopper and legacy status keep it out of the primary high-volume category.

Product FAQ

Is the Nuova Simonelli G60 a stepless or stepped grinder, and how precise is the grind adjustment for dialing in espresso?

The Nuova Simonelli G60 is a stepless grinder, meaning you can make infinitely small adjustments within the grind range rather than being limited to preset “clicks.” This allows very precise control for dialing in espresso shots, which is especially useful if you’re switching between different coffees or roast levels and need fine-tuned extraction.

Can the G60 grind for both espresso and filter coffee, or is it designed mainly for espresso?

The G60 is primarily designed as an espresso grinder, optimized for fine, consistent espresso grind settings. While it can be adjusted coarser, it’s not ideal as an all‑purpose grinder for regular filter or batch brew use. If you need a grinder for both espresso and filter, you may want a separate grinder or a model specifically marketed as multi‑purpose.

What type and size of burrs does the Nuova Simonelli G60 use, and are they flat or conical?

The G60 uses flat burrs made from hardened steel, sized in the commercial range (often around 60 mm class, depending on production spec). Flat burrs are preferred in many commercial espresso setups for their consistency and flavor clarity. Being a flat‑burr, on‑demand grinder, it’s built to deliver uniform espresso particle size and repeatable results.

How long do the burrs on the G60 typically last, and how often should they be replaced?

Burr life depends on volume and bean type, but for the G60’s hardened steel flat burrs, many users see roughly 600–800 kg of coffee before replacement in typical café or restaurant use. In a lower‑volume environment, that often translates to several years of service. Signs that burrs need replacing include slower grinding, increased clumping, more fines, and difficulty maintaining consistent shot times even after adjustments.

What types of settings is the G60 best suited for—home, small café, restaurant, or office?

The Nuova Simonelli G60 is built as a compact commercial‑style espresso grinder. It works well in small cafés, restaurants, coffee carts, and higher‑end office setups where consistent espresso is needed but space is limited. It can also be used in serious home setups if you want commercial‑grade performance in a relatively small footprint.

Will the Nuova Simonelli G60 fit under most standard kitchen cabinets in the U.S.?

The G60 has a relatively compact footprint compared with many commercial grinders, but its height with hopper may still be close to or exceed standard U.S. cabinet clearance (often around 17–18 inches from counter to cabinet). If under‑cabinet space is tight, you may need to confirm the exact height and consider using a shorter hopper or removing the hopper lid when placed under cabinets.

Does the G60 allow for hands‑free grinding directly into the portafilter?

Yes. The G60 is designed for bar‑style, hands‑free grinding. It features a portafilter fork or holder that securely supports the portafilter, so you can lock it in place and let the grinder dispense directly into the basket without having to hold the handle the entire time.

Is the Nuova Simonelli G60 a timed, manual, or grind‑by‑weight grinder for dosing?

The G60 is an on‑demand grinder that uses time‑based dosing. You can program the grind time to approximate your desired dose by weight, and then activate the programmed shot. It is not a grind‑by‑weight grinder with a built‑in scale. You can also operate it manually to grind as long as the activation switch is engaged.

How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 90 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is the customer's responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be the customer's responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If the customer's location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain the customer's responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

What to Expect on Install Day

Getting a commercial espresso machine delivered is one thing. Getting it actually running — plumbed, programmed, and pulling properly — is another. Here's what happens when the technician comes out.

Before the appointment: Site preparation will be confirmed before technicians make it out. Once your machine ships, we'll coordinate scheduling with you and assign a local certified technician. Before they arrive, make sure your space is ready: the machine's permanent location should be determined, your water line and drain access should be in place, and your electrical supply should match the machine's requirements.

On the day The technician will handle the physical installation of the machine — positioning, water line connection, and drain setup. Once it's plumbed and powered, they'll run through the setup and basic programming: boiler pressure, shot parameters, and confirming that water flows correctly through the group heads and steam wands. Some basic training will be provided, they'll pull test shots to verify the machine is operating within spec.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
