and hundreds of cafés, restaurants and offices.

The SR64 is a commercial on-demand grinder for bars that want repeatable timed dosing without moving to an 83mm platform. Its 64mm Dark-T flat burrs, 350 W motor, CapSense touchscreen, and stepless micrometric adjustment support precise espresso dial-in. Two programmable doses plus manual mode make it a practical primary grinder for lower-volume cafés or a capable decaf and secondary-station grinder.

Product Features

Timed Programmable Dosing

Program single and double timed doses to 0.1 second, with a dedicated manual mode for topping off, purging, and dialing in.

64mm Dark-T Flat Burrs

The 64 mm Dark‑T PVD-coated flat burrs provide espresso-focused consistency and an estimated service life around 1,400 kg.

CapSense Touchscreen

The CapSense display controls dose timing and shows coffee temperature, relative humidity, consumption statistics, and burr-wear information.

Stepless Micrometric Adjustment

A micrometric ring provides continuous, stepless grind adjustment for precise espresso recipe changes.

350 W Motor

The 350 W motor turns at 1,550 RPM on 60 Hz power and produces approximately 4.0 g/s in the catalog configuration.

Commercial On-Demand Workflow

A 1.5 kg hopper, adjustable portafilter fork, and active ventilation support efficient low- to medium-volume commercial service.

Our honest read

The Coffeeionado Take

Straight answers, before you buy.

Who's It For

  • Low- to medium-volume cafés — 64mm burrs, timed dosing, and stepless adjustment provide a practical balance of precision, speed, and value for everyday espresso service.
  • Decaf and secondary stations — the commercial build and compact 64mm platform make it a strong partner grinder beside a higher-output primary unit.
  • Teams prioritizing repeatable workflow — programmable single and double timed doses, manual mode, and the CapSense touchscreen simplify training across shifts.

It's Right For You If

  • You're outfitting a café or coffee bar and need a commercial-grade on-demand grinder, not a home unit stretched past its limits.
  • You want stepless micrometric adjustment so you can dial in precisely instead of settling for the nearest click.
  • You'd rather grind fresh per shot than manage a hopper of pre-ground coffee losing aromatics between orders.

Things to Consider

  • This 64 mm platform is best for low- to medium-volume primary duty or secondary/decaf use; a very busy multi-group bar should step up to a larger grinder.
  • Doses are programmed by time rather than weight, so dose weight should be checked as coffee, grind setting, and ambient conditions change.
  • At 615 mm / 24.2 inches tall, the standard hopper requires adequate overhead clearance.

Our Take

The SR64 is a genuinely capable commercial grinder at a fair price point for an independent café. 64mm burrs and stepless adjustment give you real dial-in precision without the premium of a flagship model. If you're outfitting a single-bar operation and want reliable, repeatable output, it belongs on your short list.

Product FAQ

Is the Sanremo SR64 On Demand a stepless grinder, and how precise are the grind adjustments?

Yes. The Sanremo SR64 On Demand is a stepless espresso grinder, meaning you can make very fine incremental grind adjustments rather than being limited to preset steps. This allows you to dial in espresso shots with high precision for different coffees and recipes.

What types of settings is the Sanremo SR64 On Demand best suited for (café, home, restaurant, etc.)?

The SR64 On Demand is designed primarily as a commercial on-demand espresso grinder, ideal for cafés, coffee bars, and restaurants that serve espresso-based drinks regularly. It can also be used in serious home setups, but its size, speed, and capacity are more than most casual home users need.

Does the Sanremo SR64 On Demand work for both espresso and filter coffee, or is it espresso-only?

The SR64 On Demand is optimized for espresso grinding. While you can technically adjust it coarser, it is not designed to be a multi-purpose grinder for regular switching between espresso and filter coffee. If you frequently brew filter coffee, it’s better to use a separate grinder dedicated to that brew method.

What type and size of burrs does the Sanremo SR64 On Demand Espresso Grinder use?

The Sanremo SR64 On Demand typically comes equipped with 64 mm flat burrs designed specifically for espresso. These burrs are engineered for consistent particle size distribution and fast grinding speeds suitable for commercial espresso service.

How long do the burrs in the Sanremo SR64 On Demand usually last, and how often should they be replaced?

64mm commercial flat burrs on the SR64 are rated for roughly 600-1,000 kg of coffee before replacement - about 12-24 months in a busy café, longer in lower-volume settings. Slower grinding, more fines, or difficulty dialing in are the signs it's time to replace them.

How fast is the Sanremo SR64 On Demand, and can it keep up with a busy café rush?

With its 64 mm flat burr set and commercial motor, the SR64 On Demand is designed for high throughput. It can grind a typical double espresso dose in just a few seconds, making it suitable for handling multiple drinks back-to-back in a busy café or restaurant environment.

Does the Sanremo SR64 On Demand offer timed or manual dosing, and is it hands-free?

The SR64 On Demand is an on-demand grinder that typically offers programmable timed dosing for single and double shots, along with a manual grind mode. It includes a portafilter fork so you can grind directly into the portafilter for mostly hands-free operation, depending on how you set up your workflow.

Is the Sanremo SR64 On Demand low-profile enough to fit under most standard kitchen cabinets?

The SR64 On Demand is a full-size commercial grinder and may be too tall to fit under standard home kitchen cabinets once the hopper is installed. If cabinet clearance is important, compare the grinder’s listed height (including hopper) with your available space, or consider using a smaller aftermarket hopper in home environments.

How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 90 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is the customer's responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be the customer's responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If the customer's location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain the customer's responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

What to Expect on Install Day

Getting a commercial espresso machine delivered is one thing. Getting it actually running — plumbed, programmed, and pulling properly — is another. Here's what happens when the technician comes out.

Before the appointment: Site preparation will be confirmed before technicians make it out. Once your machine ships, we'll coordinate scheduling with you and assign a local certified technician. Before they arrive, make sure your space is ready: the machine's permanent location should be determined, your water line and drain access should be in place, and your electrical supply should match the machine's requirements.

On the day The technician will handle the physical installation of the machine — positioning, water line connection, and drain setup. Once it's plumbed and powered, they'll run through the setup and basic programming: boiler pressure, shot parameters, and confirming that water flows correctly through the group heads and steam wands. Some basic training will be provided, they'll pull test shots to verify the machine is operating within spec.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
