Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

A cafe’s reputation relies on the assumption that the hardware can keep up with the morning rush without thermal drifting. Opting for an independent AISI 316 boiler for each group means you’ve stopped treating temperature as a hope and started treating it as a professional standard. It tells your staff that their craft won't be undercut by the equipment, and it signals to your regulars that the hundredth espresso of the shift will taste exactly like the first. This is how you stabilize a coffee program that intends to grow.

Product Features

Multi-Group On/Off

Multi-Group technology (on-off by group) lets you power individual groups to match demand, conserving energy and simplifying workflow during slow periods or single-operator shifts. That flexibility reduces unnecessary wear and helps maintain consistent performance when service ramps up.

T Technology© Thermal Stability

Ascaso's T Technology© uses professional thermodynamic groups to keep group temperature stable and deliver fresh water for every shot, reducing thermal drift during busy service. The thermodynamic design also improves energy efficiency — Ascaso reports about a 50% average savings versus a traditional machine (estimated $220/year energy cost).

Independent AISI 316 Boiler

A dedicated steam boiler made from stainless steel AISI 316 with large capacity keeps steam supply steady even under continuous milk service. Thermal lagging on the boiler speeds recovery and maintains consistent steam performance across long shifts.

PID & Programmability

External PID control and digital displays give per-group and steam-boiler temperature management plus external timers for tight operational control. Programmable features include PID, Pre-infusion, Shot Time, Group Temp., Adjustable Power, Shot Timer and Shot Counter — useful for dialing in recipes and keeping extraction consistent across baristas.

High-Performance Volumetric Pump

A high-performance volumetric pump maintains consistent brew pressure after prolonged and simultaneous use, preventing pressure sag during peak periods. That stability helps ensure repeatable extraction when multiple shots are pulled at once.

10mm Cool-Touch Steamer

The 10mm stainless-steel steamer features a cool-touch design to reduce burn risk for baristas and an anti-limescale tube for greater longevity and easier maintenance. This combination supports heavy milk programs with reliable steam and less downtime.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • New café operators — Programmable volumetric dosing and electronic pre-infusion (adjustable 0–5 seconds) deliver consistent shots from day one, reducing the learning curve for a new team
  • Established coffee programs upgrading from older hardware — Independent AISI 316 boilers per group mean the hundredth espresso tastes like the first, solving the thermal drift problem that plagues aging equipment
  • Restaurant and hospitality coffee programs — The 100–200 shot-per-hour capacity and straightforward automation make this manageable for staff who may not be dedicated espresso specialists

Right For You If:

  • You are serving 100–200 shots per shift and need reliable volumetric dosing to keep service moving without barista variability.
  • You have a direct water line connection and 220–240V power available at the installation site.
  • You want the temperature stability of independent boilers without the complexity of pressure profiling or manual paddle controls.

Things to Consider:

  • Warm-up takes 40-75 minutes, and the independent boiler architecture delivers precision that really shows up during sustained high-volume service.
  • Optional electronic steam control is an add-on rather than standard — budget for it if consistent milk texturing across multiple baristas is a priority for your program.

Our Take:

The Barista T Plus takes the independent boiler concept and makes it practical for real-world cafés — AISI 316 stainless boilers per group with programmable pre-infusion give you professional-grade consistency without a professional-grade learning curve. This is the machine we recommend when someone asks for a two-group that just works, shift after shift.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Ascaso Barista T Plus 2 Group Automatic use a rotary pump or a vibratory pump?

The Barista T Plus series uses a rotary pump, which is quieter and better suited for commercial and high‑volume environments than a vibratory pump.

Is the Ascaso Barista T Plus 2 Group Automatic a direct‑plumbed machine, or can it be used with a water tank?

It is designed as a direct‑plumbed commercial machine that must be connected to a water line; it does not include an onboard water reservoir for standalone use.

Does this machine have pre‑infusion, and is the pre‑infusion time adjustable?

Yes. The Barista T Plus features programmable pre‑infusion for each group, and the pre‑infusion time can be adjusted through the machine’s control menu to fine‑tune extraction.

Are the steam wands cool‑touch or no‑burn on the Ascaso Barista T Plus 2 Group Automatic?

Yes. The machine is equipped with cool‑touch steam wands designed to stay significantly cooler than traditional wands, reducing burn risk and preventing milk from baking onto the surface.

Does the Ascaso Barista T Plus 2 Group Automatic use a multi‑boiler system, and can you adjust brew temperatures independently for each group?

The Barista T Plus is a multi‑boiler machine with dedicated brew boilers for each group and a separate steam boiler. Brew temperatures are PID‑controlled and can be set independently per group for different coffees or brew profiles.

Is this machine 110V or 220V, and what kind of electrical connection do I need in the US?

The 2‑group Barista T Plus is a commercial machine that requires a 220–240V, 20–30A dedicated circuit in the US. Exact voltage, amperage, and plug type can vary by configuration, so verify the electrical spec sheet before installation.

Does the Ascaso Barista T Plus 2 Group Automatic support volumetric dosing, and can I program shot volumes?

Yes. It is an automatic (volumetric) machine, allowing you to program multiple dose buttons per group head so baristas can start consistent single, double, or custom shot volumes at the touch of a button.

What type and size of portafilters does the Barista T Plus 2 Group use, and are bottomless portafilters included?

The machine uses standard commercial 58mm portafilters. It ships with double and single spouted portafilters; bottomless (naked) portafilters are sold separately.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
