Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

A café’s reputation is earned during the hours when the line reaches the door and stays there. The Bezzera B2016 is for the operator who values a predictable workflow, anchored by a 2.9-gallon copper boiler that maintains thermal stability through a sustained morning rush. It is a deliberate choice to prioritize the actual output of your bar over the distraction of unnecessary digital menus or flashing lights. You are installing the machine that shows up to work as early as you do.

Product Features

11 L Copper Boiler

An 11 L copper boiler gives the two-group B2016 the thermal reserve for simultaneous brewing and sustained milk steaming across both groups. Copper's thermal conductivity supports quick pressure recovery during back-to-back rushes and helps maintain temperature stability through long service windows.

Thermostatically Controlled Groups

Thermostatically Controlled Groups keep each grouphead at a set extraction temperature so shots stay consistent across a rush. For high-volume cafés this reduces temperature swing between pulls and helps maintain flavor stability during long service periods.

Built-In Volumetric Motor Pump

The Built-in Volumetric Motor Pump supplies consistent pressure and integrates with a direct water connection, eliminating the need for manual refilling. Plumbed-in operation plus a factory-mounted volumetric pump simplifies setup and keeps pressure steady under load.

Programmable Volumetrics

Each Group is Programmable Up to 4 Different Coffee Doses, letting baristas store repeatable shot volumes for different drinks or recipes. Programmable dosing speeds workflow and reduces waste when training staff or running multiple beverage formats.

Heavy-Duty 304 Stainless Construction

Heavy Duty 304 Stainless-Steel Construction with Removable Stainless-Steel Grids delivers durability and easy daily cleaning for a commercial environment. The built layout also Allows cups up to 5” tall, so common cup sizes fit without juggling.

Hot Water Faucet + Water Filter Included

A dedicated hot water faucet and Water Filter Included mean ready access to filtered hot water for americanos and tea while protecting the machine from scale. Including the filter out of the box reduces starter maintenance and helps preserve extraction quality.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Established café operators — A 11-liter copper boiler and thermostatically controlled groups handle the sustained thermal demands of a busy morning rush without digital complexity
  • Coffee programs prioritizing simplicity over features — No displays, no menus, just programmable volumetric dosing and a mechanical pre-infusion system that experienced baristas can read by feel
  • Operators replacing aging commercial hardware — The B2016 is a direct replacement for legacy two-group machines where the baristas already know the workflow and just need reliable, predictable equipment

Right For You If:

  • You are pulling 150–250 shots per shift and need a machine that maintains thermal stability through sustained high-volume service.
  • Your baristas are experienced enough to manage thermostatic group temperatures without PID assistance and you prefer mechanical reliability over digital precision.
  • You have the option of either a direct water line or reservoir connection, giving you installation flexibility.

Things to Consider:

  • The 40–75 minute warm-up time is the longest in this category — if your shop opens early and you need the machine ready fast, plan on a smart plug timer or consider a model with a shorter heat-up cycle.
  • Thermostatic group control without PID means temperature consistency depends more on barista technique and group management than on the machine itself — this rewards experienced operators but may frustrate a team still learning the craft.
  • The optional automatic steam wand is available but not standard — budget for it if consistent milk texturing across a rotating staff is a concern.

Our Take:

The B2016 is built for daily service in the truest sense — an 11-liter copper boiler, thermostatic groups, and no unnecessary digital layers between your baristas and the espresso. This is the machine for operators who trust their team to manage temperature by feel and want hardware that just runs, day after day, without a touchscreen to crack or a firmware update to install.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Is the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic direct‑plumbed, or does it have a water tank?

The Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic is a commercially oriented machine that is designed to be direct‑plumbed into your water line. It does not use a removable water reservoir; it requires a permanent water connection and proper filtration/softening for reliable performance and to maintain the warranty.

What kind of pump does the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic use—rotary or vibration?

The B2016 2 Group Automatic is equipped with a commercial rotary pump. Rotary pumps are significantly quieter than vibration pumps and are designed for continuous use in a café, restaurant, or high‑volume environment.

Does the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic have programmable volumetric dosing?

Yes. The "Automatic" in the model name indicates volumetric controls. Each group is equipped with programmable buttons that let you set shot volumes (e.g., single, double, etc.) so the machine will automatically stop the extraction at the preset volume. A manual/continuous button is typically also available for custom shots.

Does this machine offer pre‑infusion, and if so, is it adjustable?

The B2016 line provides a form of pre‑infusion via its group design and pressure ramp‑up, which helps saturate the coffee puck before full extraction pressure is reached. On most B2016 2 Group Automatic configurations, pre‑infusion is not user‑programmable in software; it is a built‑in mechanical or line‑pressure style pre‑infusion rather than a fully adjustable, timed pre‑infusion profile.

Are the steam wands cool‑touch / no‑burn on the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic?

Most Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic units ship with traditional stainless‑steel steam wands that get hot during use. Some markets or resellers may offer a cool‑touch wand upgrade, but cool‑touch is not standard on all configurations. If cool‑touch wands are important to you, confirm this detail with the specific US retailer before purchase.

What power requirements and electrical configuration does the B2016 2 Group Automatic need in the US?

In the US, the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic is typically configured for 220–240V, 50/60 Hz, and requires a dedicated circuit (often 20–30 amps depending on boiler size and exact spec). It must be hard‑wired or connected via an appropriate plug according to local electrical codes. Always check the nameplate and your seller’s listing and have installation done by a qualified electrician.

What is the boiler capacity and how suitable is it for a busy café or restaurant?

The 2‑group B2016 usually features a single large copper boiler in the ~8–11 liter range (exact size depends on the configuration) with a heat‑exchanger system. This provides strong steam power and the ability to pull shots and steam milk simultaneously. It is designed for small to medium‑volume cafés, restaurants, and office environments that need consistent output throughout the day.

Can I pull shots and steam milk at the same time on the Bezzera B2016 2 Group Automatic?

Yes. The B2016 2 Group Automatic uses a heat‑exchanger boiler system that allows you to brew espresso and steam milk concurrently on both groups and steam wands. This is a core requirement for commercial service and is one of the reasons it performs well in busy environments.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
