Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

There comes a point where the noise of a vibrating pump feels less like progress and more like an intrusion on your morning. Choosing a spring piston lever is a move toward physics and away from electronics, trusting a mechanical pressure curve to do what a circuit board only tries to simulate. This machine doesn't ask for your permission to start a cycle; it waits for you to engage with the brass internals and pull the shot. It is time to stop pressing buttons and start practicing the craft.

Product Features

Brass Piston & Gaskets

Brass piston housing with two piston gaskets (not plastic) retains heat and resists brittleness from high grouphead temperatures. That metal construction reduces long-term wear and helps maintain a stable extraction environment compared with plastic piston designs.

Spring Piston Lever

Spring piston-operated grouphead — you pull the lever down and the internal spring pushes to create extraction pressure. The spring provides a repeatable pressure curve from pull to pull, giving the tactile control of a manual lever with consistent pump-like pressure for dialing shots.

Single Brass Boiler

Single Boiler System built in brass (1.8 L capacity) delivers dry steam for microfoam and improves temperature stability at the wand and grouphead. The boiler pairs with an armor-plated heating element (800 watts), a pressure gauge that reads boiler pressure, a pressurstat (programmed in 2017 to cycle below the green zone to reduce grouphead overheating), and safety devices including a relief valve and built-in thermostat.

Low-Noise Operation

Lever-driven spring piston design keeps morning noise to a minimum compared with vibration-pump machines. If quiet early-morning extraction and a peaceful kitchen ritual matter, the Microcasa a Leva is built to run with far less mechanical noise.

Handcrafted Finish & Stability

Each Microcasa a Leva is handcrafted and offered in three plated finishes (copper & brass, chrome, chrome & brass) with a polished chrome eagle ornament on the dome. The machine’s large, round base (~10-inch diameter) gives extra stability when you operate the lever, and the bespoke finishes make it a showroom-style centerpiece.

49 mm Portafilter & Kits

Comes with a 49 mm dual-spout portafilter plus 1-cup and 2-cup 49 mm filter baskets, a tamper and scoop — the set lets you start dialing in shots right away. The 49 mm head is common among lever enthusiasts and supports traditional dosing and basket workflows for precise shot development.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Hobbyists who want manual control — The spring piston lever provides a declining pressure profile that rewards a precise grind, leaving the character of the shot to your hands rather than a circuit board
  • Enthusiasts who treat espresso as a craft — Choosing a spring piston lever is a move toward physics and away from electronics, trusting a mechanical pressure curve to do what a circuit board only tries to simulate
  • Home users upgrading from entry-level espresso — If you have mastered the basics on a pump machine and want to feel exactly what is happening inside the group head, this is the next step

It's Right For You If:

  • You pull 2–6 shots a day and want a machine that rewards technique rather than automating it away.
  • You are pairing this with a capable burr grinder and a scale — because without consistent dosing, the spring piston will amplify your inconsistencies, not hide them.
  • You want a compact machine with a slim, space-saving profile that fits small countertops and a 120V outlet.

Things to Consider:

  • Spring piston levers have a gentler learning curve than direct levers — the spring handles the pressure curve for you — but you still need to manage grind, dose, and temperature, and the machine will punish sloppy puck prep.
  • The chrome finish is striking but the machine is still a tool — the group head needs thermal management between consecutive pulls, and the brass internals require the same care as any lever.
  • The 49mm portafilter is non-standard.

Our Take:

The Elektra Micro Casa A Leva in chrome is the lever machine for people who want the craft without the copper maintenance — the polished Italian chrome finish is a showpiece, but the real story is the spring piston that gives you a declining pressure profile no pump can replicate. If you want a machine that makes your kitchen look better and your espresso taste better, this is the one.

Made by hand in Italy, the Micro Casa is a work of art.

Warranty Included

When investing in coffee equipment, peace of mind is worth its weight in gold. This warranty is your guarantee against manufacturer's defects and ensures that all parts and labor are covered for an entire year from the date of purchase. We understand that our customers deserve the very best.

Paid Shipping

At Coffeeionado, we understand the frustration of hidden costs when making online purchases. This is why we're thrilled to announce that we now cover all shipping, freight, and handling charges for our premium coffee equipment within the continental USA. Gone are the days of considering additional fees as you add items to your cart.

Heritage Features

This Italian lever espresso machine features a 1.8 L boiler, a handy steam wand and a spring-piston operating system all on a large 10-inch diameter base. You can also measure your extraction with the easily viewable pressure gauge. It comes all adorned with a beautiful open-winged eagle on top.

Manual Espresso Maker

An espresso lever machine, or manual espresso maker, uses a hand-operated lever to brew espresso. In contrast to contemporary automated models, lever machines empower you to oversee the entire brewing procedure. The basic principle remains consistent: pressurize a small quantity of water through finely ground coffee beans to yield a potent and flavorful cup of espresso.

While there is a learning curve and regular maintenance required, the dual frothing cappuccino systems and large boiler capacity make it a great choice for entertaining or for use at home or in a small café. It has a small footprint so it can easily be set up on your kitchen counter.

Spring Piston Operated

With spring piston operated lever machines, you use a manual lever to oversee the extraction process. This simple and interactive method enables you to make precise modifications while brewing. By adjusting pressure, flow rate, and extraction duration, you can craft your ideal espresso shot.

Brass Piston for Durability

Unlike many other machines that utilize plastic pistons in the grouphead, the Elektra Microcasa Leva stands out with its brass piston housing two piston gaskets. Plastic pistons are prone to becoming brittle and cracking due to the high heat in the group head over time, while the brass piston in the Elektra serves as an excellent addition for preserving heat within the group head.

1.8L Brass Boiler

Even though brass is more expensive than aluminum or stainless steel, its superior performance significantly enhances the quality of espresso produced by the machine. The high thermal conductivity of brass leads to a noticeable improvement in the temperature consistency of espresso shots during brewing.

Boiler Gauge

The pressure gauge on espresso machines is vital for producing top-notch espresso. It shows the pressure used to extract the coffee, ensuring that water passes through the grounds in the portafilter at the right force. Keeping this pressure steady is key to making excellent espresso shots every time.

Water Level Sight Glass

The water level sight glass on the boiler is an essential feature that provides a visual indication of the water level inside the boiler. This is particularly useful when filling the boiler, as it helps to prevent overfilling and ensures that the water level is at the appropriate level for safe and efficient operation.

Safety in Mind

This home espresso machine comes with a couple of hand safety features. It has a boiler pressure relief valve on top, in case too much pressure builds up. Elektra made sure to have the handles made of Bakelite to keep touches cool. It also comes with a built-in safety thermostat that prevents meltdown if left without water.

Upgrade Base Available

You can also upgrade to include a wooden base to set the Micro Casa on which includes providing an accessory drawer fitted with a removable plastic knock box. Add the upgrade and save $50 today.

    Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

    Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

    Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

    What This Means

    • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
    • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
    • Improper water can damage internal components over time

    Machine-Specific Considerations

    • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
    • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

    Product FAQ

Does the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva use a vibration or rotary pump?

The Elektra Micro Casa a Leva is a traditional lever espresso machine and does not use a pump at all. Pressure is created manually by pulling the lever and by the boiler pressure, rather than by a vibration or rotary pump.

Can the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva be direct-plumbed into my water line?

No. The Elektra Micro Casa a Leva is a pour-over (tank‑fed) machine only. It has an internal water reservoir and is not designed for direct plumbing to a water line.

Does the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva have pre-infusion?

Yes, it provides a form of mechanical pre-infusion inherent to lever machines. As you begin to lower the lever, water at boiler pressure gently saturates the coffee puck before full pressure is applied, acting as a pre-infusion stage.

Is the steam wand on the Micro Casa a Leva cool-touch or no-burn?

No. The steam wand is not a cool-touch or no-burn design. It gets very hot during use, so it should always be handled by the rubber grip or knob, and allowed to cool before cleaning.

What type of power and voltage does the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva require in the US?

US versions of the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva are 110–120 V, 60 Hz, with a power draw around 800–1000 W. It runs on a standard US household outlet but should be used on a properly grounded, dedicated circuit when possible.

How long does the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva take to heat up before pulling shots?

From a cold start, expect roughly 15 minutes for the boiler and the group head to fully heat-soak for consistent espresso. You may see steam pressure sooner, but best results come after a full warm-up.

What size portafilter and baskets does the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva use?

The Micro Casa a Leva uses a 49 mm portafilter. It usually comes with single and double baskets sized for that 49 mm format, which is smaller than the more common 58 mm commercial standard.

Is the Elektra Micro Casa a Leva suitable for making multiple drinks back-to-back, or is it mainly for low-volume home use?

It is designed primarily for low- to moderate-volume home use. You can make several drinks in a row, but boiler capacity, recovery time, and the manual lever workflow make it less practical for high-volume entertaining or commercial use.

    How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

    Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

    What's Included

    • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
    • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
    • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
    • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

    How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

    What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

    • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
    • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
    • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
    • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
    • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

    Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

    Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

    After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

    Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
