Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

You reach a point where your entry-level setup feels like a bottleneck, and the ritual of espresso deserves more than plastic buttons and vague temperature approximations. The Micro Casa Semiautomatica is a commitment to the tactile side of the craft, demanding your attention while rewarding your technique with the consistency only a 58mm grouphead can provide. It is a centerpiece that functions as a workspace, designed for the barista who wants to be involved in every stage of the extraction rather than just waiting for a light to turn green. This is the machine you buy when the pursuit of a better shot becomes more important than the convenience of a fast one.

Product Features

58mm Grouphead

A full-size 58mm group head lets you use café-scale baskets and portafilters, producing the extraction profile enthusiasts expect. The larger group mass also helps temperature stability when you’re dialing in grind and dose.

Heat Exchange (HX) System

Heat exchanger (HX) design flashes brew water through a pipe in the bottom boiler for near-instant extractions, so you don’t wait between warm-up and pulling shots. For home baristas this delivers stable brew temperatures while keeping the machine ready for consecutive cups.

Brass Boiler & Dry Steam

A durable brass boiler produces very dry steam for superior milk texturing, and the extended steam wand with a twist-knob steam valve gives quick on/off control. That combination makes it easier to develop consistent microfoam for lattes and cappuccinos at home.

Vibration Pump Pressure

The precision-engineered vibration pump delivers consistent pressure to the grouphead, helping you hit repeatable shot times and yields. Reliable pump performance is critical when you’re dialing in shots from different beans or roast dates.

Three-Way Solenoid Valve

A three-way solenoid valve relieves pressure in the grouphead after extraction, preventing the messy rebound when removing the portafilter. That makes cleaning and shot-turnover simpler during your morning routine.

Top-Loading Tank & Manual Refill

The top-loading water basin plus a manual water refill switch lets you add water without powering down the machine; the pump then refills the boiler as needed. It’s a practical setup for longer home sessions or when you want continuous availability without interrupting the ritual.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Experienced home baristas who value the craft of manual extraction — No PID and no automation means you manage every variable, rewarding technique with a uniquely hands-on result
  • Enthusiasts who appreciate iconic Italian chrome design — The mirror-finish chrome is a statement piece that elevates any kitchen counter
  • Hobbyists building a permanent, ritual-focused setup — This machine is designed for the barista who treats espresso as a daily practice, not a convenience

It's Right For You If:

  • You have already mastered temperature surfing and want the tactile feedback of a fully manual HX machine.
  • Your daily drink count is 1–3 and you enjoy the process of managing cooling flushes and shot timing as part of the ritual.
  • You are pairing this with a capable burr grinder and value the pursuit of a better shot over the convenience of a fast one.

Things to Consider:

  • No PID, no shot timer, and no programmable features — every aspect of the extraction is managed by you, which means a real learning curve.
  • Best suited for solo use or one drink at a time; back-to-back milk drinks will require patience and recovery time.
  • The vibration pump is audible and the full manual workflow demands your presence during every shot.

Our Take:

The Elektra Micro Casa in chrome is the other classic Italian HX that doubles as kitchen jewelry — it looks like it belongs in a museum and pulls shots that reward the time you invest in learning it. If you want a machine that makes you a better barista by demanding your attention, and you do not mind that it is not designed for speed, this is a genuinely beautiful choice.

This warranty is your guarantee against manufacturer's defects and ensures that all parts and labor are covered for two years from the date of purchase. This is why we're thrilled to announce that we now cover all shipping, freight, and handling charges for our premium coffee equipment within the continental USA. Gone are the days of considering additional fees as you add items to your cart.

Heritage Features

This Italian espresso machine features a 2 L boiler, a handy steam wand and semi-automatic functions all on a large 10.5-inch diameter base. You can also measure your extraction with the easily viewable pressure gauge. It comes all adorned with a beautiful open-winged eagle on top.

Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine

Semi-automatic espresso machines strike a harmonious blend between manual operation and automation. While the barista controls the initiation and stoppage of water flow, the machine takes charge of maintaining optimal pressure. This category of machines is widely favored in various professional environments for delivering reliable outcomes while also permitting a degree of personalization. Notable features of semi-automatic machines include: user-managed water flow, steady pressure, and flexibility for customization.

Beauty in the Details

Just under 2 feet tall, the Microcasa espresso machine will become your new go-to for producing all your cafe favorites at home in true vintage Italian style. Whether it is decked out in chrome or brass and copper this beautiful machine will produce fine quality extractions for years to come.

Boiler Gauge

The pressure gauge on espresso machines is vital for producing top-notch espresso. It shows the pressure used to extract the coffee, ensuring that water passes through the grounds in the portafilter at the right force. Keeping this pressure steady is key to making excellent espresso shots every time.

Water Level Sight Glass

The water level sight glass on the boiler is an essential feature that provides a visual indication of the water level inside the boiler. This is particularly useful when filling the boiler, as it helps to prevent overfilling and ensures that the water level is at the appropriate level for safe and efficient operation.

Brass Boiler

Even though brass is more expensive than aluminum or stainless steel, its superior performance significantly enhances the quality of espresso produced by the machine. The high thermal conductivity of brass leads to a noticeable improvement in the temperature consistency of espresso shots during brewing.

Heat Exchanger 2 Liter Boiler

This 2-liter commercial espresso machine with a heat exchange boiler is a high-powered and efficient coffee-making tool specifically designed for professional use in cafes, restaurants, and other commercial environments. Here are the key features:

  • Boiler Capacity: The 2-liter boiler offers plenty of space for making multiple espresso shots and steaming milk at the same time. Heat exchange machines utilize a single boiler to handle both brewing and steaming tasks.
  • Heat Exchange: In contrast to dual boiler machines that have separate boilers for brewing and steaming, heat exchange machines employ a single boiler with a heat exchange tube. This tube allows hot water from the boiler to heat the brewing water as it flows through, ensuring consistent brewing temperature.
  • Simultaneous Brewing and Steaming: Thanks to the heat exchange system, baristas can brew espresso shots while simultaneously frothing milk for lattes or cappuccinos. This simultaneous operation is essential during peak hours in a commercial setting.

Safety in Mind

This home espresso machine come with a couple of hand safety features. It has a boiler pressure relief valve on top, in case too much pressure builds up. Elektra made sure to have the handles made of Bakelite to keep touches cool. It also comes with a built-in safety thermostat prevents meltdown if left without water.

From Treviso to Your Cup: Legacy Italian Brand

Known for their exquisite beauty and precise craftsmanship, Elektra, the esteemed Italian producer of espresso machines, is celebrated for its attention to detail. Since 1947 they have been producing machines that are not only practical but also serve as masterpieces of art. Handcrafted with care, each Elektra espresso machine is painstakingly put together by expert artisans.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica use a vibratory or rotary pump?

The Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica uses a vibratory pump, not a rotary pump. It is a pour-over (tank-fed) machine designed for home use rather than heavy commercial duty.

Is the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica a direct-plumb machine, or does it only have a water tank?

This model is a reservoir (pour-over) machine only and is not designed to be directly plumbed into your water line. It has an internal water tank that you fill manually.

Does the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica have pre-infusion?

It does not have programmable or electronic pre-infusion. However, you can simulate a brief manual pre-infusion by starting the pump gently and allowing a short pause before pulling the full shot, but there is no dedicated pre-infusion feature.

What kind of boiler and heating system does the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica have?

The Micro Casa Semiautomatica uses a single copper boiler with a heat-exchanger (HX) design. This allows you to brew espresso and steam milk at the same time, but it does not have separate, independently controlled brew and steam boilers.

Does this machine have a PID temperature controller or adjustable brew temperature?

No, the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica does not use a PID controller. Temperature is regulated by a pressurestat. You can influence brew temperature somewhat through flushing techniques, but there is no digital temperature adjustment.

Is the steam wand on the Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica cool-touch or no-burn?

The steam wand is not a cool-touch or no-burn design. It will get very hot during use, so you should handle it by the designated knob and use caution when cleaning or repositioning it.

What is the recommended grind size and basket style for this machine (58 mm or something else)?

The Elektra Micro Casa Semiautomatica uses a commercial-size 58 mm portafilter. Use a matching 58 mm tamper and non-pressurized baskets, then dial in a fine espresso grind based on shot time and yield.

How long does it take to heat up and be ready to pull consistent espresso shots?

While the boiler reaches pressure in roughly 10–15 minutes, the grouphead and overall system typically need about 25–30 minutes of warm-up time for consistent, stable espresso shots. Leaving the machine on for that period before brewing is recommended.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 90 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is the customer's responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be the customer's responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If the customer's location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain the customer's responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

What to Expect on Install Day

Getting a commercial espresso machine delivered is one thing. Getting it actually running — plumbed, programmed, and pulling properly — is another. Here's what happens when the technician comes out.

Before the appointment: Site preparation will be confirmed before technicians make it out. Once your machine ships, we'll coordinate scheduling with you and assign a local certified technician. Before they arrive, make sure your space is ready: the machine's permanent location should be determined, your water line and drain access should be in place, and your electrical supply should match the machine's requirements.

On the day The technician will handle the physical installation of the machine — positioning, water line connection, and drain setup. Once it's plumbed and powered, they'll run through the setup and basic programming: boiler pressure, shot parameters, and confirming that water flows correctly through the group heads and steam wands. Some basic training will be provided, they'll pull test shots to verify the machine is operating within spec.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
