Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

Choosing a three-group machine is a public acknowledgement that your volume has outpaced standard equipment and your reputation can no longer risk a bottleneck. High-capacity service requires a level of consistency that stays the same across every shift, which is why the ability to lock in your profiles via USB upload is a practical necessity for your head barista rather than a luxury. This machine serves as the anchor of a professional bar, signaling to both staff and regulars that you prioritize the hardware requirements of high-output espresso. You are finally matching your equipment to the actual scale of your ambition.

Product Features

5 Programmable Selections

Each group has 5 programmable direct selection buttons so baristas can store portion sizes and shot timers for repeatable pulls. Direct selections speed throughput and reduce dosing variation during peak periods.

Glass Touch Screen

A color glass touch screen integrated into the console gives fast, on-the-fly access to brew parameters and settings. In a busy café this responsive interface reduces training time and speeds routine adjustments for consistent service.

Water & Filter Monitoring

The machine monitors water usage and filter replacements, tracking consumption and replacement timing to protect brew quality and simplify maintenance. That visibility helps prevent off-flavors and unplanned downtime in high-volume operations.

USB Upload & Programming

Easily upload or program settings through the USB port to standardize recipes and configurations across machines. This capability cuts setup time and keeps brew profiles consistent across shifts or locations.

Group Purge Button

A dedicated purge button facilitates a quick rinse of each coffee group to clear grounds and stabilize temperature between shots. Fast purging improves extraction consistency and keeps groupheads clean during continuous service.

Dual Cool-Touch Steam Wands

Two steam wands with cool touch technology let operators steam simultaneous milk orders without long cooldowns or discomfort. Dual wands maintain milk-station throughput and staff safety during rushes.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Busy cafés that want simplicity over complexity — Heat exchanger architecture with touchscreen controls means less training time and more consistent output from every barista
  • Restaurants and hospitality programs adding serious coffee — Tall cup clearance and 400–800 shot capacity handle the demands of table service alongside a full kitchen
  • Growing coffee operations that have outgrown a 2-group — The 21L boiler and three groups give you room to scale without jumping to a larger footprint machine

Right For You If:

  • Your daily shot count is 300–600 and you need three groups running simultaneously during peak service without temperature drops.
  • You want touchscreen volumetric dosing so different baristas can pull consistent shots without manually timing every extraction.
  • You have a direct water line and a 220V circuit (NEMA 6-50) — this machine draws serious power and needs plumbing to run reliably.

Things to Consider:

  • Warm-up time runs 40–75 minutes from cold — plan to leave the machine on overnight or use a scheduling timer to have it ready for opening.
  • Heat exchanger architecture means all three groups share a single 21L boiler — temperature stability is solid for medium and dark roasts but less precise than independent boilers for dialing in light roasts.
  • This machine requires hardwired 220V electrical and direct plumbing — factor installation costs into your budget alongside the machine itself.

Our Take:

The La Giusta is the workhorse choice when you need three groups of reliable output without the complexity (and cost) of a multi-boiler system — it just works, shift after shift. If your menu leans medium-to-dark roasts and your baristas are comfortable with volumetric controls, this is a machine you can count on for years.

Large Heat Exchanger 21 Liter Boiler

The 21-liter commercial espresso machine with a heat exchange boiler is a high-powered and efficient coffee-making tool specifically designed for professional use in cafes, restaurants, and other commercial environments. Here are the key features:

  • Boiler Capacity: The 21-liter boiler offers plenty of space for making multiple espresso shots and steaming milk at the same time. Heat exchange machines utilize a single boiler to handle both brewing and steaming tasks.
  • Heat Exchange: In contrast to dual boiler machines that have separate boilers for brewing and steaming, heat exchange machines employ a single boiler with a heat exchange tube. This tube allows hot water from the boiler to heat the brewing water as it flows through, ensuring consistent brewing temperature.
  • Simultaneous Brewing and Steaming: Thanks to the heat exchange system, baristas can brew espresso shots while simultaneously frothing milk for lattes or cappuccinos. This simultaneous operation is essential during peak hours in a commercial setting.
  • Temperature Control: Heat exchange machines maintain steady water temperature for brewing purposes. The boiler remains at steaming temperature, while the heat exchange tube ensures that the brewing water is heated as needed.

ECO Functions

Experience the ultimate energy efficiency with this espresso machine's ECO function, designed to optimize energy usage based on real-time operation. By activating the ECO function during periods of inactivity, you can achieve energy savings without compromising on performance. Say goodbye to unnecessary energy consumption and hello to a more sustainable and cost-effective shop operations.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Gaggia La Giusta 3 Group Tall have a rotary pump or a vibratory pump?

The Gaggia La Giusta 3 Group Tall uses a commercial-grade rotary pump designed for continuous, high‑volume operation. Rotary pumps are quieter and more durable than vibratory pumps and are standard for machines in this performance class.

Is the La Giusta 3 Group Tall a direct‑plumbed machine, or can it use a water tank?

The La Giusta 3 Group Tall is a direct‑plumbed commercial machine and must be connected to a mains water supply and drain. It does not have an internal water reservoir and is not intended for unplumbed use.

Does this model support pre‑infusion, and is the pre‑infusion time adjustable?

Yes. The La Giusta 3 Group Tall features programmable electronic pre‑infusion on each group. Through the control interface, you can set and save different pre‑infusion times for each dose to help improve extraction consistency and accommodate different coffees.

Are the steam wands cool‑touch or no‑burn, and how many steam wands does it have?

The machine is equipped with two cool‑touch (no‑burn) stainless steel steam wands, engineered to stay significantly cooler to the touch and to reduce milk sticking to the wand. This improves safety for baristas and speeds up cleaning.

What is the cup clearance on the ‘Tall’ version, and can it still handle standard espresso cups?

The ‘Tall’ configuration offers increased cup clearance to accommodate larger to‑go cups, typically in the 16–20 oz range depending on the cup design. It also includes a removable cup‑rest or raised grid so you can comfortably pull shots into standard espresso cups without excessive distance from the spout.

Is the La Giusta 3 Group Tall suitable for high‑volume cafes, and how many drinks per hour can it realistically handle?

Yes. The 3‑group La Giusta is designed for busy commercial environments such as high‑volume cafés and restaurants. While exact output depends on your workflow and grinder speed, it is commonly used in venues producing well over 200–300 espresso‑based drinks per day and can comfortably sustain peak rush periods with multiple baristas working simultaneously.

Does the machine have programmable volumetric dosing, or is it purely manual?

The La Giusta 3 Group Tall is a volumetric machine. Each group features multiple programmable dose buttons (for example, single, double, and continuous/manual) that allow you to set shot volumes electronically for consistent extraction. Baristas can also run shots manually when desired.

What power and electrical requirements does this 3‑group model have for installation in the United States?

The US‑spec La Giusta 3 Group Tall typically requires a dedicated 220–240 V, 60 Hz, multi‑amp circuit (commonly 30–40 A depending on configuration). Exact amperage and breaker size should be confirmed from the product data plate and installation manual, and installation should be performed by a qualified electrician following local codes.

How does free installation work?

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
