Shop commercial coffee grinders for cafés, restaurants, bakeries, hotels, offices, retail coffee programs, and other professional settings. This collection includes espresso-focused grinders, all-purpose grinders, and higher-capacity filter or bulk grinding equipment designed for more demanding workflows than a typical home setup.

How to choose a commercial coffee grinder

Do not size a grinder by daily drink count alone. The better questions are what you are grinding for, how concentrated your busiest service period is, and how much output the grinder must deliver without becoming the bottleneck.

  • Espresso service: Prioritize dosing speed, adjustment precision, retention, heat management, and how quickly the grinder can support repeated shots during a rush.
  • Filter and batch brew: Look at grind range, batch throughput, workflow, hopper capacity, and how often you switch coffees.
  • Retail or bag grinding: Favor broad grind range, sustained output, durability, and easy adjustment between brew methods.
  • New cafés: If you do not know your busiest hour yet, start with whether coffee is your primary product, expected transactions, drink mix, staffing, and whether you expect one grinder to cover multiple coffees or brew methods.

Burr size is only part of the story

Larger burrs can support faster grinding and strong commercial throughput, but burr diameter alone does not determine performance. Burr geometry, motor power, RPM, cooling, adjustment system, dosing design, and intended use all matter. Compare the complete grinder rather than treating burr size as a simple ranking system.

Match grinder output to the espresso machine

A commercial espresso machine can only work as fast as the grinder feeding it. A two- or three-group machine paired with an undersized grinder can create a line even when the espresso machine still has capacity. For busier coffee-first shops, consider peak drinks per minute, number of coffees offered, decaf workflow, and whether a second grinder is needed for redundancy or separate coffee.
