Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

The espresso machine is the most visible representative of your standards, standing exactly where the customer makes their first impression of your coffee program. It has to handle a sustained morning rush with mechanical consistency while signaling to your patrons that your equipment choices are as deliberate as your bean sourcing. The tempered glass finish offers a modern profile that hides the heavy-duty internals required for back-to-back service without looking like a piece of industrial plumbing. This is the machine for the operator who knows that professional reliability is the only way to build a reputation that lasts.

Product Features

Independent Heat Exchangers

A copper boiler with independent heat exchangers for each brewing group isolates thermal zones so each group holds its temperature profile. That separation helps maintain shot consistency across two groups during high-volume service.

Sleek Tempered Glass

The tempered glass design gives the machine a contemporary, front-of-house aesthetic that complements modern café counters. Its sleek panels communicate premium build quality while keeping the lineup visually consistent during service.

One-Button Backflush

Backflushes with a single push button, simplifying group-head cleaning between shifts or during busy periods. Quick, repeatable cleaning reduces downtime and keeps extraction consistent throughout the day.

Illuminated Work Area

Backlit buttons and an illuminated work area improve visibility for fast, accurate operation under crowded, dim, or front-of-house lighting. Clear controls help baristas program and monitor doses quickly during peak service.

Dual Rotational Steam Outlets

Equipped with two rotational steam outlets and two steam wands plus a quarter turn steam knob, the machine supports concurrent milk steaming for multiple baristas. The layout and control style speed milk prep and keep service moving at scale.

Stainless Steel Service Surfaces

Stainless steel cup rail and back panel provide durable, hygienic surfaces that withstand heavy use and frequent cleaning. Robust service areas help the machine hold up in a commercial environment while maintaining a clean presentation.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Established café operators — A 12L heat-exchange boiler provides the thermal mass for sustained medium-volume service, and the tempered glass finish gives your bar a modern profile that hides heavy-duty internals
  • Coffee programs investing for the long term — Commercial stainless-steel construction with accessible panels simplifies daily cleaning and reduces long-term maintenance downtime
  • Operators who want barista-controlled extraction — Semi-automatic operation rewards skilled baristas who dial in each shot, while programmable volumetric dosing provides a consistency fallback for less experienced staff

Right For You If:

  • You are pulling 150–250 shots per shift and want a machine that combines a modern aesthetic with proven heat-exchange thermal stability.
  • You have a direct water line and 220–240V power for a full-sized commercial installation.
  • Your baristas are comfortable with semi-automatic shot control and you want the option of volumetric dosing for consistency when needed.

Things to Consider:

  • The 40–75 minute warm-up is the tradeoff for the 12L boiler's thermal mass — a smart plug timer is essential for early morning openings.
  • Semi-automatic operation means shot timing is barista-controlled — if your team rotates frequently or includes less experienced staff, the volumetric dosing option provides consistency, but the primary workflow depends on barista skill.
  • The tempered glass finish is visually distinctive but may show fingerprints and water spots more readily than brushed stainless — factor cleaning aesthetics into your daily maintenance routine.

Our Take:

The Vetro is Gaggia's design-forward commercial two-group — the tempered glass finish gives your bar a modern edge while the 12L heat-exchange boiler and semi-automatic operation deliver the thermal stability and barista control that serious service demands. If you want your machine to look as good as the espresso it produces and your team can handle semi-automatic workflow, this is the one.

Heat Exchanger 13 Liter Boiler

The 13-liter commercial espresso machine with a heat exchange boiler is a high-powered and efficient coffee-making tool specifically designed for professional use in cafes, restaurants, and other commercial environments. Here are the key features:

  • Boiler Capacity: The 13-liter boiler offers plenty of space for making multiple espresso shots and steaming milk at the same time. Heat exchange machines utilize a single boiler to handle both brewing and steaming tasks.
  • Heat Exchange: In contrast to dual boiler machines that have separate boilers for brewing and steaming, heat exchange machines employ a single boiler with a heat exchange tube. This tube allows hot water from the boiler to heat the brewing water as it flows through, ensuring consistent brewing temperature.
  • Simultaneous Brewing and Steaming: Thanks to the heat exchange system, baristas can brew espresso shots while simultaneously frothing milk for lattes or cappuccinos. This simultaneous operation is essential during peak hours in a commercial setting.
  • Temperature Control: Heat exchange machines maintain steady water temperature for brewing purposes. The boiler remains at steaming temperature, while the heat exchange tube ensures that the brewing water is heated as needed.

Quarter Turn Knobs

Simple quarter turns for comfortable on/off. And it doesn’t matter whether you prefer going left or right, it works both ways.

High Efficiency Boiler

Copper construction with 13 L capacity and an independent thermosiphon heat exchanger for each brew group.

Eco-Friendly Machine

The machine's primary material for the contact surface is tempered glass, comprising 95% of its composition. This material is frequently touched by end users and offers various benefits. Tempered glass is not only fully recyclable but also facilitates effortless cleaning and sanitization using standard cleaning and disinfecting products. It resists the adhesion of dirt and external substances, boasts exceptional durability and strength, requires minimal maintenance, and can withstand high temperatures effectively.

Hot Water Outlet

A hot water outlet is available for those who like their coffee a little longer or just prefer tea.

Light Up the Space

Work is easy with this commercial espresso machine since you don't need to worry about shadows. The LED barista lights that allow baristas to see what they are doing and not work in the dark.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Is the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group a direct-plumbed machine, or can it also use a water tank?

The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group is designed as a commercial, direct-plumbed espresso machine. It must be connected to a mains water line and does not operate from a removable water tank or reservoir.

Does the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group use a rotary pump, and how loud is it in a café environment?

Yes. The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group is equipped with a commercial rotary pump. Rotary pumps are generally quieter and more durable than vibration pumps, making this machine suitable for cafés, restaurants, and offices where lower operating noise is preferred.

Does this machine offer pre-infusion, and is it adjustable?

The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group includes pre-infusion as part of its brewing process to help improve extraction consistency. Pre-infusion is typically factory-set and not user-programmable in the way that high-end specialty machines allow, but individual shot volumes can usually be programmed via the control panel.

Are the steam wands on the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group cool-touch or no-burn?

The Gaggia Vetro line is generally equipped with insulated, cool-touch steam wands designed to reduce the chance of burns and to minimize milk sticking to the wand. However, specific configuration can vary by importer, so US buyers should confirm with the retailer whether the model they are purchasing includes cool-touch wands.

What kind of power supply does the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group require in the US?

The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group is a commercial machine that typically requires a 220–240V, 50/60 Hz dedicated electrical circuit. In the US, this usually means a 220–240V, 20–30A line. Always check the nameplate specifications and confirm electrical requirements with your electrician and the seller before installation.

Does the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group have separate boilers for brewing and steaming (dual boiler) or a single heat-exchanger boiler?

The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group is generally built on a commercial heat-exchanger (HX) boiler system, where a single main boiler provides steam and hot water while independent heat-exchanger circuits feed the brew groups. This allows simultaneous brewing and steaming, but it is not a true dual-boiler design. Prospective buyers should verify boiler specs with the US distributor, as configurations can differ by market.

Can I program shot volumes and temperature on the Gaggia Vetro 2 Group?

Shot volumes (for single and double doses) are typically programmable through the machine’s control panel, allowing you to set consistent volumetric doses for each group. Brew temperature is managed by the boiler’s pressurestat or electronic control and is not usually user-adjustable on a per-group basis. Any advanced temperature adjustments should be performed by a qualified technician.

Does the machine include an integrated water filtration system, or do I need an external filter?

The Gaggia Vetro 2 Group does not normally include a built-in water filtration system. For optimal taste and to protect the boiler and internal components from scale, you should install an external water filtration and softening system on the incoming water line according to your local water hardness.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
