Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

The Botticelli Specialty is La Pavoni's most capable extraction tool — the gear pump gives you pressure control that most prosumer machines require a separate Decent or Slayer to achieve, and it does it on a dual-boiler platform with separate PID regulation. If you are the kind of person who engineers every shot with precision, this is the machine that makes it possible.

Product Features

Adjustable Group Temperature

Adjustable group head temperature gives baristas the control to dial extraction for different coffees and roasts. Combined with high-mass stainless steel groups that retain heat, the D8 holds steady brew temperatures between pulls for repeatable results under load.

Dual Boiler

Dual boiler system means you can steam and brew at the same time. It's set up with a PID temperature control, keeping brew temperature stable through continuous service. That built-in temperature regulation reduces shot variance so busy bars can deliver consistent extraction shot after shot.

Dedicated Gear Pump

A dedicated gear pump maintains stable pressure during peak service, preventing pressure sag when multiple groups are running. Stable pump performance means more consistent pre-infusion and extraction across busy shifts.

Programmable Volumetric Dosing

Programmable volumetric dosing with up to 7 programmable doses per group and a digital display with live shot timer lets operators preset portion sizes and monitor shot time in real time. That speeds throughput and reduces human dosing variability during high-volume periods.

Energy-Saving Mode

Energy-saving mode includes programmable scheduling so cafés can reduce boiler and heater runtime during slow hours without manual intervention. Scheduled energy management lowers operating costs while keeping the machine ready for service windows.

Tall Group Height Option

Available in Standard and Tall versions — the Tall offers extra group clearance for larger cups and to-go drinks, making pours and tamping less awkward and accelerating service for takeaway workflows.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Pressure-profiling enthusiasts — The gear pump BPPC system gives you true pre-infusion and ramp control that prosumer vibe pumps cannot approximate.
  • Dual boiler shoppers — Separate 0.6 L brew / 1.8 L steam copper boilers with individual PID regulation, so you never choose between brew temp and steam pressure.
  • E61 traditionalists — Proven platform, modern pressure control. Best of both eras.

It's Right For You If:

  • You want gear pump pressure profiling on a proven dual-boiler platform — typically a $5K+ feature on other machines.
  • You pull 4–10 shots daily and want dual PID control for repeatable temperature across both brew and steam.
  • You want 58mm commercial standards and aftermarket accessory compatibility.

Things to Consider:

  • The 0.6 L brew boiler is optimized for home volume — 4–10 shots before recovery. If you regularly serve larger groups, plan short pauses between rounds or consider a machine with a larger brew boiler.
  • The gear pump and BPPC system add mechanical complexity compared to a standard vibe pump.
  • The brass group head runs hot on the exterior during operation. Give it clearance and be deliberate about positioning.

Our Take:

The Botticelli Specialty is La Pavoni is most capable extraction tool — the gear pump gives you control that most prosumer machines require a separate Decent or Slayer to achieve, and it does it on a proven E61 platform. If you are the kind of person who wants to engineer every shot with laboratory precision, this is the machine that makes it possible.

La Pavoni Botticelli Espresso Machine

Flow Control - Group Head Pressure Gauge

Customize your shots on the fly with the group head pressure gauge that allows you to regulate the flow rate and pressure while extracting espresso. This hands-on approach gives you enhanced precision in crafting each shot to achieve perfection.

Enjoy consistently great espresso shots with the BPPC

The BPPC (Brewing Pressure Profiling Control) is undoubtedly one of the best features on the Botticelli. It is capable of managing extraction rates and maximizing the flow of espresso. With the BPPC, you can replicate the best shots you've ever pulled, eliminating the chances of getting inconsistent flavor profiles.

Dual PIDs

Dual PID-controlled dual boilers

Great tasting shots is a guarantee with the La Pavoni Botticelli due to its impressive thermal stability. The two boilers for steam and espresso can both be controlled by the PID, allowing you to accurately set a precise temperature.

With PID controller espresso machines, you ensure that the water temperature remains constant and ideal for producing high-quality espresso.

Insulated Copper Boilers

Copper boilers in espresso machines offer exceptional heat conductivity, ensuring rapid heating and faster recovery times for a quicker startup. Maintaining optimal brewing temperatures is essential for consistently good espresso, and copper's ability to uphold steady temperatures contributes to a consistent brew quality. Additionally, copper's natural antimicrobial properties make it a hygienic choice for espresso machines by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms.

Dual Boiler Espresso Machine

A dual boiler espresso machine is engineered with two distinct boilers: one for brewing espresso at the perfect temperature and another for generating steam to froth milk. Unlike single boiler machines that share one boiler for both tasks, dual boilers enable simultaneous brewing and steaming, ensuring consistent temperature and pressure for superior quality espresso beverages.

Stainless Steel Construction

An espresso machine crafted from stainless steel, particularly AISI 304, is renowned for its impressive durability and resistance to rust, wear, and staining. This exceptional material is renowned for its outstanding durability and remarkable resistance to corrosion, wear, and stains, making it the perfect addition to any coffee shop or home kitchen.

Rotary Pump for Quieter Operations

Rotary pump espresso machines offer many advantages, especially for home usage. Its low noise level is a key benefit, ensuring a quieter espresso experience. Rotary pumps have a longer lifespan of approximately 15 years, making them a reliable option for long-term use and reducing the need for frequent replacements. Additionally, they provide more consistent pressure and achieve quick pressure buildup compared to vibratory pumps.

Cool Touch Wands

With these revolutionary features, you can froth and steam milk without any concerns about getting burned. The cool touch technology ensures that the wand remains at a safe temperature, allowing you to focus on creating the perfect espresso drinks without any worries. Say goodbye to accidental burns and hello to a more enjoyable coffee-making process with our state-of-the-art espresso machine.

Dual Manometers

You'll find dual manometers on espresso machines for monitoring brew and steam pressure. The brew pressure gauge checks the resistance from the coffee grounds in the filter basket when the pump is running to ensure optimal extraction. Meanwhile, the steam pressure gauge on heat exchange or dual boiler machines shows the boiler's steam pressure for safety, usually rated at 2.0 bar for structural integrity.

E61 Group Head

The E61 group head is renowned for its exceptional temperature stability, and this is further enhanced by the 9 pounds of quality brass used in its construction. This substantial amount of brass ensures that heat is evenly distributed throughout the group head, resulting in precise and consistent brewing temperatures.

An all-round professional build

Housed in AISI 304 stainless steel and with long-lasting dual portafilter handles, competition shower screens, cool touch wands (so no more burned fingers), and an E61 group head all packaged in an electropolished stainless steel case for superior brewing capabilities.

Competition Grade Screens and Baskets

This espresso machine comes equipped with competition-grade shower screens and filter baskets, designed for optimal water dispersion and consistent extraction. The precision-engineered screen ensures even saturation of the coffee puck, while the ridgeless baskets improve flow and reduce channeling—resulting in better flavor clarity, more balanced shots, and café-level performance right out of the box.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the La Pavoni Botticelli Specialty have a rotary pump or a vibration pump, and how loud is it during operation?

The La Pavoni Botticelli Specialty Dual Boiler is equipped with a rotary pump. Rotary pumps are generally quieter and more consistent than vibration pumps, so noise levels are relatively low—comparable to a quiet kitchen appliance rather than a loud grinder. This makes it suitable for home use where noise is a concern.

Is the Botticelli Specialty a dual boiler machine, and can I brew espresso and steam milk at the same time?

Yes. The Botticelli Specialty is a true dual boiler machine, with one boiler dedicated to brewing and a separate boiler for steam and hot water. This allows you to brew espresso and steam milk simultaneously with stable temperatures and no waiting between functions.

Does this machine offer pre-infusion, and can it be adjusted?

Yes. The Botticelli Specialty provides pre-infusion via its E61 group and pump control. On many units, pre-infusion timing can be adjusted through the PID or programming interface, allowing you to fine-tune how long water is gently introduced to the coffee puck before full pressure is applied. This helps improve extraction consistency and flavor.

Is the La Pavoni Botticelli Specialty direct-plumb capable, and can it also use the internal water tank?

The Botticelli Specialty is plumb-in capable and also includes an internal water reservoir. You can run it either from the built-in tank or connect it directly to your water line if your installation and local plumbing codes allow. Many users start with the tank and switch to direct-plumb later for added convenience and more consistent water supply.

Does the machine include cool‑touch steam and hot water wands to prevent burns?

Yes. The Botticelli Specialty generally comes with insulated, cool‑touch (no‑burn) steam and hot water wands. They are designed to stay significantly cooler to the touch than traditional single‑wall wands, reducing the risk of burns and making them easier to handle and clean.

What kind of temperature control does it use? Does it have a PID and can I set brew and steam temperatures separately?

The Botticelli Specialty is equipped with PID temperature control. Because it is a dual boiler machine, you can typically set and monitor the brew boiler and steam boiler temperatures independently. This lets you fine‑tune brew temperature for different coffees while adjusting steam temperature for your preferred steaming power.

What type of power and outlet does this machine require in the US, and can it be used on a standard kitchen circuit?

In the US, the Botticelli Specialty is usually configured for 110–120V, 60 Hz operation and draws around 15 amps or less, allowing it to run on a standard 15–20 amp household kitchen circuit. It uses a standard NEMA 5‑15 plug. Always verify the specific voltage and amperage on the machine label and ensure the circuit is not overloaded with other high‑draw appliances.

What type and size of portafilter does it use, and are bottomless or single spouts compatible?

The Botticelli Specialty uses a commercial‑style 58 mm portafilter, which is compatible with a wide range of 58 mm baskets and accessories. Most units ship with double and sometimes single baskets, and many aftermarket bottomless (naked) 58 mm portafilters will fit the group head without issue.

How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
