Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

There comes a point where you realize your entry-level setup has become the bottleneck in your morning routine. The shift to a 58 mm brass brewing unit isn't just about professional sizing; it’s about having the thermal mass required to stop guessing why your extraction changed between the first and second shot. Integrating the grinder into a chassis of this caliber acknowledges that while you value your counter space, you value your consistency more. This is where your pursuit of a predictable extraction becomes a reality.

Product Features

Visible Pump Pressure (Pump Manometer)

The front-facing pump manometer shows real-time extraction pressure from the 15 bar vibration pump, so you can monitor and repeat your shots with precision. That on-machine feedback is essential for tuning tamp, dose and grind to hit consistent results shot after shot.

Built-In 7-Position Grinder

A seven-position adjustable coffee grinder is integrated into the machine, using a conical burr set and a 130 g bean container. Having the grinder onboard lets you dial grind size quickly for different beans and doses without adding a separate grinder to your bench.

58 mm Portafilter & Brass Brewing Unit

The filter-holder accepts a 58 mm internal diameter basket and mates to a chromed brass brewing unit, giving you commercial-sized puck capacity and a thermally stable group. Those materials help maintain extraction temperature and are the kind of specification prosumers expect for control and consistency.

Stainless-Steel Single Boiler

A single stainless-steel boiler (0.25 L) provides the machine’s heating system, combining robustness with predictable thermal behaviour for brewing and steaming cycles. The stainless-steel construction supports longevity and consistent temperature response for repeated use.

Large Removable Water Tank

A 2.7 L removable water tank with a visible water-level indicator reduces refill frequency and makes maintenance straightforward. It’s sized for higher-volume home or small-shop use while staying easy to lift out and refill.

Steam And Hot-Water Functions

The machine includes a stainless-steel steam wand plus a dedicated hot-water function for milk texturing and drink variety. Those functions let you craft cappuccinos and prepare milk-based drinks with the control expected by serious home baristas and small cafés.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • First-time espresso buyers — The built-in grinder and 58mm portafilter give you a complete setup in one machine without matching components
  • Home users upgrading from pod machines — The 15-bar commercial pump and brass brewing unit deliver a genuine step up in extraction quality
  • Daily home espresso drinkers with limited counter space — One machine does both grinding and brewing, saving valuable counter real estate

It's Right For You If:

  • You want an all-in-one setup that eliminates the guesswork of matching a grinder to a machine.
  • Your daily shot count is 3–8 drinks and you want straightforward operation without a steep learning curve.
  • You're okay with the built-in grinder's capabilities and don't plan to upgrade to a standalone grinder soon.

Things to Consider:

  • The built-in 7-position grinder limits your dial-in flexibility compared to a standalone stepless grinder — fine-tuning is coarser.
  • The single boiler means you can't brew and steam simultaneously — expect a brief temperature transition between functions.
  • If you outgrow the built-in grinder, you'll need a separate grinder purchase, making the integrated design less efficient long-term.

Our Take:

The Domus Bar is the honest all-in-one for people who want real espresso without buying two machines — the built-in grinder and 58mm brass group get you started right. Just know that if the grinder bug bites later, you'll want a standalone upgrade.

Durable Design

The La Pavoni Domus Bar Espresso machine with Grinder has a sleek and elegant design that is sure to catch your eye. It is made of high-quality stainless steel, which gives it a modern look while also being durable enough to withstand daily use. The machine's size is compact, making it perfect for any home kitchen or office space.

Semi-automatic Espresso Machine

Semi-automatic espresso machines strike a harmonious blend between manual operation and automation. While you control the initiation and stoppage of water flow, the machine takes charge of maintaining optimal pressure.

Quick Warm-up Time

Unlike most entry-level espresso machines that take a lot of time to heat up completely, the Domus Bar preheats very fast. In less than 5 minutes, the machine will be ready for you to brew. This is very handy for those mornings when you need a quick fix before you dash out for work.

Built-in Grinder

The Domus espresso machine with a built-in conical burr grinder operates at low rpm, ensuring a consistent grind size for the perfect espresso shot. Its removable catch tray makes it easy to clean and maintain, while the heat shield protects the beans from any damage due to excess heat. This combination of features not only enhances the overall experience of making espresso but also ensures that the beans are treated with care and precision throughout the grinding process.

Brass Boiler

Even though brass is more expensive than aluminum or stainless steel, its superior performance significantly enhances the quality of espresso produced by the machine. The high thermal conductivity of brass leads to a noticeable improvement in the temperature consistency of espresso shots during brewing.

Steam Wand

The La Pavoni Domus Bar Espresso machine with Grinder also comes equipped with a steam wand, which allows you to froth milk for lattes and cappuccinos. The steam wand produces enough pressure to create perfectly textured milk that adds another layer of flavor to your espresso drinks.

Manometer

The pressure gauge on espresso machines is vital for producing top-notch espresso. It shows the pressure used to extract the coffee, ensuring that water passes through the grounds in the portafilter at the right force. Keeping this pressure steady is key to making excellent espresso shots every time.

Other Features

In addition to the built-in grinder and steam wand, this machine comes with other convenient features like a removable water tank for easy refilling, an easy-to-use control panel for adjusting temperature and brewing time, and a cup warmer on top of the unit so that your cups are preheated before use. Overall, these features make using this machine efficient as well as enjoyable.

How The Grinder Works In Conjunction With The Brewing Process

One of the standout features of this espresso machine is its built-in grinder. How does it work in conjunction with brewing?
Well, when you use pre-ground coffee beans, oxygen degrades their quality over time. This means that if you're using pre-ground coffee beans that have been sitting around for a while, you're not going to get as rich or flavorful an espresso as you could be.
That's where having a built-in grinder comes in handy! When you grind your own beans fresh before each shot, they retain all of their flavor and aroma until they hit hot water during brewing.
This results in a consistently high-quality espresso every time. Plus, since there are no extra steps involved in grinding separately from brewing, this machine saves time while ensuring freshness at every step of preparation!

Features that Make It Stand Out

One thing that sets La Pavoni Domus Bar Espresso machine with Grinder apart from other machines is its built-in grinder. Many espresso machines require a separate grinder in order to grind fresh coffee beans for each shot of espresso. With this machine, however, you don't have to worry about purchasing a separate grinder because it comes built-in.
Another feature that makes this machine stand out is its steam wand. The wand allows you to froth milk for cappuccinos and lattes without having to use a separate device or milk frother.

Fine Italian Espresso Brand

Established in 1905, La Pavoni has been producing fine Italian-made espresso machines for over 115 years. This long history of crafting exceptional products have earned them a well-deserved reputation as one of the best manufacturers in the industry. Their range of products includes both domestic and professional grade models, giving you plenty of options when choosing an espresso machine for your lifestyle and budget.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the La Pavoni Domus Bar have a built‑in grinder, and can I adjust the grind size for espresso?

Yes. The Domus Bar includes an integrated conical burr grinder with multiple grind-size adjustments suitable for espresso. You can fine-tune the grind from coarser to very fine using the adjustment knob to match your beans and preferred extraction.

What kind of pump does the La Pavoni Domus Bar use, and what is the brew pressure?

The Domus Bar uses a vibration pump, not a rotary pump. It is designed to deliver standard espresso pressure of up to around 15 bar, with actual brewing typically occurring in the 8–10 bar range depending on grind, dose, and tamp.

Does the Domus Bar have pre-infusion or any kind of soft-start feature for the espresso shot?

The Domus Bar does not offer a programmable or dedicated pre-infusion feature like you’d find on some higher‑end prosumer machines. Any pre‑wetting of the puck is informal and comes from the natural pressure ramp-up of the vibration pump rather than a controlled pre-infusion cycle.

Is the La Pavoni Domus Bar a heat‑exchange or dual‑boiler machine, and can it brew and steam at the same time?

The Domus Bar uses a single boiler with a built‑in heat exchanger-style thermoblock for steam. It is not a dual‑boiler machine. You can brew espresso and then activate steam, but it is not designed for fully simultaneous heavy brewing and steaming like larger heat‑exchange or dual‑boiler commercial-style units.

Is the steam wand on the Domus Bar cool‑touch or no‑burn, and can it texture milk for latte art?

The steam wand on the Domus Bar is a traditional metal wand and is not marketed as cool‑touch or no‑burn, so it will get hot during use and should be handled carefully. It is capable of producing sufficient steam pressure to texture milk for cappuccinos and lattes, and with practice you can achieve microfoam suitable for basic latte art.

Can the La Pavoni Domus Bar be direct‑plumbed into a water line, or is it tank‑only?

The Domus Bar is a reservoir‑based machine and does not support direct plumbing. It comes with an internal water tank that you fill manually. There are no factory‑provided fittings or options to connect it directly to a household water line.

What size portafilter does the Domus Bar use, and are standard commercial baskets or bottomless portafilters compatible?

The Domus Bar typically uses a 57 mm portafilter, which is smaller than the common 58 mm commercial standard. This means many generic 58 mm baskets and bottomless portafilters will not fit. You’ll need baskets and accessories specifically made for the 57 mm La Pavoni format or those explicitly listed as compatible with the Domus Bar.

How large is the water reservoir, and how often will I need to refill it for daily home use?

The water tank on the Domus Bar is approximately 3 liters in capacity. For typical home use—2 to 4 milk drinks or straight espressos per day—you’ll usually need to refill it every few days, depending on how much steaming you do and how frequently you run cleaning or flush cycles.

How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
