Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

The moment you realize temperature surfing is a chore rather than a hobby is when you start looking at a machine like this. It sits in the footprint of a standard kitchen appliance but behaves like a workstation, centered around a three-position temperature switch that honors the roast profile of your beans. Most heat exchangers force a compromise between shot quality and steam pressure, but this design manages the thermal trade-off so you can focus on the puck prep. You’re no longer guessing if the group is hot enough; you’re finally just making coffee.

Product Features

PID With Dual Sensors

The PID with dual sensors provides consistent brew temperature control and helps mitigate the overheating tendency common to heat exchangers. Dual probes monitor boiler and group temperatures for tighter repeatability when dialing in shots.

Heat Exchanger Boiler

A true heat exchanger layout with a 1.8L stainless steel boiler and a virtually silent vibration pump lets you pull a shot and steam at the same time—perfect for busy milk-based routines. The HX configuration gives café-style workflow in a compact, home/prosumer footprint.

E61 Brew Group

An E61 brew group in chrome-plated brass delivers thermal stability and a familiar commercial workflow for precise extractions. The E61 also supports pre-infusion compatibility and standard group-head upgrades used by serious enthusiasts.

Three-Position Temperature Switch

Swap between Warm (~198°F), Hot (~201°F) and Extra Hot (~204°F) with the three-position temperature switch tucked under the drip tray—instant, tactile control without menu navigation. It makes matching brew temperature to roast or milk schedule fast and predictable.

Coffee/Steam Prioritization

A dedicated Coffee/Steam prioritization switch lets you choose whether the boiler favors temperature stability for extraction or maximum steam performance for milk. The toggle (located on the bottom-left of the right side panel) provides a simple way to change machine behavior during service.

Steam & Brew Pressure Gauges

Built-in gauges for boiler (steam) and pump (brew) pressure give immediate feedback so you can monitor extraction and steaming at a glance. Coupled with the no-burn, fully articulated steam wand, the gauges help you dial in steam pressure and milk technique consistently.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Home baristas upgrading from single-boiler machines — The three-position temperature switch manages the HX thermal trade-off so you can focus on puck prep instead of cooling flushes
  • Enthusiasts dialing in medium-to-dark roasts — Temperature flexibility across three settings lets you match brew temp to bean profile without a dual-boiler investment
  • Daily home users pulling 2–6 drinks — Simultaneous brew and steam via the HX boiler handles morning lattes and after-dinner cappuccinos efficiently

It's Right For You If:

  • You want HX convenience without the traditional cooling-flush learning curve.
  • Your daily drink count is 2–6 and you want to brew and steam simultaneously on a standard 110-120V circuit.
  • You are pairing this with a 58mm-compatible grinder and value a compact E61 footprint on your counter.

Things to Consider:

  • The 40–75 minute warm-up is standard for E61 HX machines — plan on a smart plug or leaving it on during your coffee window.
  • Peak demand drops after 3–4 consecutive milk drinks, but it's well suited to casual get-togethers and parties.
  • The vibration pump is audible — if your setup is near sleeping areas, factor in the noise during early morning pulls.

Our Take:

The Mara X V2 is the HX machine that actually addresses the biggest complaint about heat exchangers — the temperature trade-off between brew and steam. The three-position switch makes it genuinely forgiving for an HX, and the compact footprint means it fits kitchens that cannot accommodate a dual-boiler. If you want HX convenience without the temp-surfing homework, this is the one to beat.

Mara X Espresso Machine PL62X by Lelit

The Mara from Lelit was built with a special consideration for home baristas who want to make professional level espressos. The Mara features a drip tray, custom temperature switch, detachable power plug and adjustable height in AISI 316L polished stainless steel designed to diminish fingerprints.

Fun to Use

With the help of the machine's incredible heat exchange system alongside other amazing features like its DUAL PID adjustable temperature sensor, you will be able to effortlessly produce excellent espressos, cappuccinos and lattes.

PID Controller

You can choose between three pre-set temperatures (warm, hot and extra hot) and select from three different boiler temperature ranges for different coffee blends. The double probe system ensures that your espresso shots are perfect every single time as it sustains the brew temperature.

Power Saving/Zero Wait Time

The power saving system prevents unnecessary usage by decreasing the pressure in the steam boiler when the PL62X is not in active use. Also, you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time as steam is always available.

Reservoir System

There's a particle filter that prevents unseen particles from entering the boiler and an auto-shutoff that prevents the heating element from damaging when the reservoir's water level is low or empty.

Efficient and Cost-effective Technology

The silent vibration pump allows you enjoy your espresso brewing ritual in a quiet kitchen. And when it is time to replace your pumps, you won't have to spend a lot as it costs less to replace a vibration pump, which is what the PL62X has, than a rotary vane pump.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Lelit Mara X V2 use a vibratory pump or a rotary pump?

The Lelit Mara X V2 uses a vibratory pump, not a rotary pump. This helps keep the machine compact and more affordable while still delivering consistent brew pressure.

Does the Lelit Mara X V2 have true pre-infusion, and is it adjustable?

Yes. The Mara X V2 provides pre-infusion by using its E61 group head and pump control to gently ramp up pressure before full extraction. The pre-infusion time and overall temperature/pressure behavior are influenced by the internal ‘brew priority’ and ‘steam priority’ modes, but it does not offer a separate, user-programmable pre-infusion timer like some higher-end machines.

Is the steam wand on the Lelit Mara X V2 cool-touch or no-burn?

Yes. The Lelit Mara X V2 is equipped with a cool-touch (no-burn) steam wand. The wand stays notably cooler to the touch than traditional steam wands, reducing the risk of burns and making it easier to clean off milk residue.

Can the Lelit Mara X V2 be direct-plumbed to a water line, or is it tank-only?

The Mara X V2 is a tank-only machine and does not support direct plumbing to a water line. It comes with an internal water reservoir that you refill manually.

What kind of temperature control does the Lelit Mara X V2 have? Is it PID-controlled?

Yes. The Mara X V2 uses an internal PID-based temperature management system that is tuned specifically for HX (heat-exchanger) operation. Instead of a front-panel PID readout, it offers selectable temperature profiles and modes via internal DIP switches and an indicator light, making it more ‘set-and-forget’ than manual PID machines.

How long does the Lelit Mara X V2 take to heat up and be ready to brew and steam?

From a cold start, the Mara X V2 typically takes about 20–25 minutes to fully heat-soak the boiler and E61 group for stable brewing and strong steam power. It may reach basic operating pressure sooner, but letting it warm up fully ensures more consistent shot quality.

What is the boiler configuration and size on the Lelit Mara X V2?

The Lelit Mara X V2 is a heat-exchanger (HX) machine with a single insulated copper or brass boiler (approximately 1.8 liters). This setup allows you to brew espresso and steam milk at the same time, with the heat-exchanger providing brew water at controlled temperatures while the main boiler maintains steam pressure.

Is the Lelit Mara X V2 15-amp and compatible with standard US household outlets?

Yes. The Mara X V2 is designed for standard US 120V, 15-amp household circuits. It plugs into a regular grounded kitchen outlet and does not require any special electrical wiring.

How does free installation work?

We want to make your purchase as smooth as possible and will pay the installation via rebate on commercial espresso machines. This includes commercial machines with more than 1 group head and 220V.

If the certified installer needed is over 1.5 hours away then we will pay for the installation call (and install up to the value suggested on page minus call fee). Travel will be paid by customer. Inquire if you have any questions about your location.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
