Mara X Espresso Machine PL62X by Lelit
The Mara from Lelit was built with a special consideration for home baristas who want to make professional level espressos. The Mara features a drip tray, custom temperature switch, detachable power plug and adjustable height in AISI 316L polished stainless steel designed to diminish fingerprints.
Fun to Use
With the help of the machine's incredible heat exchange system alongside other amazing features like its DUAL PID adjustable temperature sensor, you will be able to effortlessly produce excellent espressos, cappuccinos and lattes.
PID Controller
You can choose between three pre-set temperatures (warm, hot and extra hot) and select from three different boiler temperature ranges for different coffee blends. The double probe system ensures that your espresso shots are perfect every single time as it sustains the brew temperature.
Power Saving/Zero Wait Time
The power saving system prevents unnecessary usage by decreasing the pressure in the steam boiler when the PL62X is not in active use. Also, you can pull a shot and steam milk at the same time as steam is always available.
Reservoir System
There's a particle filter that prevents unseen particles from entering the boiler and an auto-shutoff that prevents the heating element from damaging when the reservoir's water level is low or empty.
Efficient and Cost-effective Technology
The silent vibration pump allows you enjoy your espresso brewing ritual in a quiet kitchen. And when it is time to replace your pumps, you won't have to spend a lot as it costs less to replace a vibration pump, which is what the PL62X has, than a rotary vane pump.

Water Quality & Machine Protection
Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.
| Parameter | Ideal Range | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Total Hardness | 50-170 ppm | Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor |
| pH Level | 6.5-7.5 | Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components |
| Chlorine | 0 ppm | Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion |
| TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) | 70-150 ppm | Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste |
| Total Alkalinity | ~7.0 | Stabilizes acidity and extraction |
| Chloride | 0-28 ppm | Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers) |
Important Note
Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.
Advisory
Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.
What This Means
- Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
- Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
- Improper water can damage internal components over time
Machine-Specific Considerations
- These guidelines are safe for most home espresso machines
- Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides
What We'd Tell You In Store
How to Choose a Home Espresso Machine
The machine that's right for someone who wants great espresso with minimal daily effort is not the same machine that's right for someone who wants to learn pressure profiling. Before you look at specs or prices, two questions do most of the work: how involved do you want to be, and what's your realistic total budget — including the grinder.
Lever and Paddle Espresso Machines: How Much Control Do You Want?
A standard espresso machine makes one decision for you: how the shot is extracted. Paddle machines, spring levers, and direct lever machines give that decision back — in increasing degrees, and with increasing demands on the person holding the lever. This guide covers the full spectrum.
How to Pick Out a Home Grinder
The grinder is the part of your espresso setup that most people buy last and most people wish they'd bought better first. Every shot you pull — its extraction speed, its flavor, its consistency from one morning to the next — is determined first at the grinder. A great machine cannot fix a poor grind.
Setting Up Your Home Espresso Machine Right
The decisions made in the first few days — where the machine lives, what water goes through it, how the workflow is arranged around it — determine a lot about whether espresso becomes a daily ritual you look forward to or a recurring source of frustration.
