Your customers might not recognize Wave Smart Water Technology by name, but they will certainly notice when your espresso profile stays consistent from the first shot of the morning to the last one before close. This machine is a clear signal to your staff that you value their precision as much as the shop's reputation, providing the kind of stability that turns a hectic rush into a controlled rhythm. It is a tool for operators who understand that a machine’s real value is measured in its ability to fade into the background while performing exactly as programmed. Now you can get back to the work of actually running your business.
Product Features
Programmable Dosing & Pre-Infusion
Volumetric dosing and pre-infusion profiles are fully programmable so each group delivers repeatable shot volumes and tailored pre-infusion timing. That consistency reduces waste and keeps throughput steady during peak service.
High-Resolution Touchscreen Control
A high resolution touch screen display gives baristas direct control over machine parameters from the group façade. On the Aurelia Wave Digit you can adjust dosages, boiler pressure, pre-infusion and energy settings quickly during service for faster changes and consistent results.
Wave Smart Water Technology
The optional Wave Smart Water Technology monitors basic water parameters and alerts the operator when water quality changes. Because water is the bulk of every espresso, this feature helps prevent equipment issues and lowers long-term maintenance costs.
Stainless Steel Boiler Capacity
A 14 L stainless steel boiler provides stable steam and brew pressure under sustained pull rates across both groups. That thermal volume preserves temperature consistency for back-to-back milk drinks in medium-to-high volume settings.
Energy Savings & Environmental Focus
The Aurelia Wave includes programmable energy savings settings accessible from the Digit interface, reflecting its focus on Energy Consumption/Environmental impact. These options let you reduce power draw during idle periods while keeping the machine ready for service.
Specialty coffee programs standardizing on precision equipment — The touchscreen interface and programmable volumetrics ensure repeatable recipes across different staff and shifts
Operators who want set-and-forget reliability at scale — The machine manages water chemistry and temperature automatically so your team focuses on service, not troubleshooting
Right For You If:
Your daily volume is 200-450 shots and you need a machine that maintains consistency without baristas monitoring temperature or water quality.
You want digital controls and a touchscreen interface that simplifies recipe management for a rotating staff.
Water quality in your area varies and you want a machine that actively adapts to those changes without manual intervention.
Things to Consider:
The 40-75 minute warm-up time means a timer switch is essential, and your opening routine needs to account for this.
Smart Water Technology works best with proper water filtration — factor a filtration system into your total setup cost, not just the machine price.
The touchscreen interface is intuitive but requires initial barista training to navigate programmable settings — budget time for this during onboarding.
Our Take:
The Aurelia Wave DIGIT is Nuova Simonelli's answer for operators who want digital precision at serious volume — the touchscreen controls and Smart Water Technology take the guesswork out of high-output consistency. If you're running a multi-location program or a single high-volume bar and want the machine to handle the variables, this one does the heavy lifting.

Volumetric Controls
Volumetric espresso machines with automated features offer a great solution for coffee shops and home users alike. From easy-to-use programmable features to increased consistency in every cup of espresso, these machines make brewing the perfect cup easier than ever before. When using espresso machines with volumetric pumps, you benefit from their precision. These pumps guarantee accurate water-to-coffee ratios, a key factor in making great espresso.
Automatic Espresso Machine
Automatic espresso machines have revolutionized the way baristas operate in coffee shops, allowing them to focus on other tasks while still producing high-quality espressos. With programmable doses, baristas can set specific measurements for each shot of espresso, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the brewing process. This feature not only helps save time but also maintains the quality and flavor of the final product. Meanwhile, they can also focus on other tasks such as taking money, steaming milk, or other work tasks.
Pre-Infusion SIS Technology
The Soft Infusion System, developed by the techs at Simonelli, is an innovative pre-infusion system that is adjustable, consistent and has no risk of user error. It is unique because it extracts centrifugally by injecting water at different angles into the coffee cake which eliminates channeling and maximizes espresso extraction by creating more contact time between the water and coffee.
Cool Touch No-Burn Steam Wands
With these revolutionary features, you can froth and steam milk without any concerns about getting burned. The cool touch technology ensures that the wand remains at a safe temperature, allowing you to focus on creating the perfect espresso drinks without any worries. Say goodbye to accidental burns and hello to a more enjoyable coffee-making process with our state-of-the-art espresso machine.
Heritage in Performance
Nuova Simonelli builds all their commercial machines with the key features expected from one of the most respected and renowned coffee machine manufacturers in the world. The Aurelia Wave is a powerful machine that will reliably operate with consistent customer flows.
LCD Display
With this machine you can easily set machine settings using a high-quality LCD screen, allowing for quick access to various functions. Adjusting dosages, pre-infusion, boiler pressure, and energy settings is a breeze with the clear instructions provided on the screen.
Barista Lights (optional)
Work is easy with this commercial espresso machine since you don't need to worry about shadows. The LED barista lights that allow baristas to see what they are doing and not work in the dark.
Raised Group Heads
If you provide a various range of cup sizes, the elevated group heads on espresso machines prove to be extremely beneficial. They eliminate the need for baristas to brew into shot glasses and then transfer the espresso into larger cups, allowing them to brew directly into taller cups and maintain an efficient workflow.
Automatic Cleaning
Avoid spending a lot of time manually cleaning the machine at the end of the day. Instead, choose a group for the machine to clean automatically while you concentrate on other tasks.
Heat Exchanger 14 Liter Boiler
This 14-liter commercial espresso machine with a heat exchange boiler is a high-powered and efficient coffee-making tool specifically designed for professional use in cafes, restaurants, and other commercial environments. Here are the key features:
Fast Recover: With such a large boiler, this machine will be able to take care of any rush and offer exceptional quality shot after shot with minimum recovery time.
Boiler Capacity: The 14-liter boiler offers plenty of space for making multiple espresso shots and steaming milk at the same time. Heat exchange machines utilize a single boiler to handle both brewing and steaming tasks.
Heat Exchange: In contrast to dual boiler machines that have separate boilers for brewing and steaming, heat exchange machines employ a single boiler with a heat exchange tube. This tube allows hot water from the boiler to heat the brewing water as it flows through, ensuring consistent brewing temperature.
Simultaneous Brewing and Steaming: Thanks to the heat exchange system, baristas can brew espresso shots while simultaneously frothing milk for lattes or cappuccinos. This simultaneous operation is essential during peak hours in a commercial setting.
Temperature Control: Heat exchange machines maintain steady water temperature for brewing purposes. The boiler remains at steaming temperature, while the heat exchange tube ensures that the brewing water is heated as needed.
Boiler Gauge
The pressure gauge on espresso machines is vital for producing top-notch espresso. It shows the pressure used to extract the coffee, ensuring that water passes through the grounds in the portafilter at the right force. Keeping this pressure steady is key to making excellent espresso shots every time.
For High Volume Cafes
This handcrafted Italian espresso machine would be perfect in high-volume cafes. It has made pulling shots as fast and simple as possible, allowing you to focus on your customers.
Suitable for: High quality coffee shops, medium - high volume locations, demanding professionals, barista competitors, specialty coffee shops.

Advisory
Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.
What This Means
Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
Improper water can damage internal components over time
Machine-Specific Considerations
Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides
Is this machine direct‑plumb only, or can it run from a water tank?
The Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV is a direct‑plumbed commercial machine. It is designed to be hard‑plumbed to your water line and does not operate from an internal water tank.
Does the Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV have programmable volumetric dosing for each group head?
Yes. As an AV (volumetric) model, it includes programmable volumetric dosing on each group head, allowing you to set multiple dose buttons for consistent shot volumes at the push of a button.
Does this machine offer pre‑infusion or soft‑infusion for better espresso extraction?
Yes. The Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV offers a soft‑infusion/pre‑infusion system that gently soaks the coffee puck before full pressure is applied, helping improve extraction consistency and crema quality.
Are the steam wands cool‑touch or no‑burn, and how many steam wands does it include?
Yes. The Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV comes with two cool‑touch (no‑burn) steam wands, designed to stay cooler to the touch and reduce milk buildup, plus a dedicated hot‑water outlet.
Does the Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV use a heat‑exchange or multi‑boiler system, and can it brew and steam at the same time?
The Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV uses a large commercial boiler with a heat‑exchange system. It is specifically designed to brew espresso and steam milk simultaneously without significant temperature or pressure loss.
The Aurelia Wave DIGIT 2 Group AV is a commercial 2‑group machine that requires 220–240V, 30A (dedicated circuit recommended), as well as a plumbed cold‑water line with adequate pressure and a drain. Exact specs can vary slightly by configuration, so it’s best to confirm with the seller or installation guide and consult a licensed electrician and plumber.
Does it include built‑in shot timers, digital displays, or other barista‑assist features?
Yes. The DIGIT version includes a digital display interface with access to programming, boiler temperature, and various parameters. Many configurations also offer integrated shot timers on each group, as well as alerts and counters for maintenance and usage.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.
Which Machines Qualify
Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.
If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.
What's Included
Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself
Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.
How Installation Is Arranged
Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:
Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.
Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.
We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.
What's Not Included
The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:
Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation
Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.
Water Filtration Requirement
Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.
If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.
Service Area
Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.
Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.
After Installation
Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.
Governing Terms
This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.
Can I pick up the machine at your store?
We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.
However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
