Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

You’ve reached the point where the equipment in your favorite local shop no longer looks intimidating, just necessary. The Musica bridges the gap between a hobby and a serious daily program, utilizing NSF commercial components that provide the thermal stability smaller home units lack. It is built for the person who expects their tenth shot of the morning to taste exactly like the first. Your workflow is ready for a machine that keeps up with your standards instead of setting a ceiling on them.

Product Features

Copper Heat-Exchange Boiler

The Musica uses a copper boiler and copper water lines with a 2.5-liter heat exchanger, so you can brew and steam at the same time. Copper’s heat-retentive properties help keep temperatures steady under back-to-back shots.

NSF Commercial Components

Built with NSF approved, commercial-grade components, the Musica is specified for both high-end home use and light commercial service. That construction gives you café-level durability and serviceability for a long useful life as your skills — or volume — grow.

E61 Group With Thermosyphon

An E61-style group head heated by a thermosyphon system maintains brew temperature stability and consistent extraction. That circulated heating reduces shot-to-shot variance important when you’re dialing in recipes.

Programmable Volumetrics & Pre-Infusion

Volumetric brew buttons are fully programmable for repeatable doses, and the machine includes an on/off pre-infusion function to control initial water flow. The hot water button is also programmable, useful for consistent Americanos or tea.

Precision Steam Wand Control

A ball-mounted, 4-hole latte-art steam wand with a no-burn sleeve gives full articulation while protecting your hands. Steam is actuated by a two-position switch for instant open/close control when texturing milk.

Accessible Reservoir & Pressure Adjustment

Top-access 3-liter water reservoir sits behind the cup-warming tray for easy refills, while a front-mounted gauge lets you monitor boiler pressure at a glance. The pressure stat is accessible behind the drip tray and the machine offers adjustable brew pressure for tuning shot profiles.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Home baristas upgrading from entry-level machines — The E61 group and programmable dosing deliver café-quality extraction without the learning curve of full manual operation
  • Daily espresso drinkers pulling 2–8 drinks — NSF commercial components handle a heavier home workload without thermal compromise
  • Enthusiasts who want repeatable results — Programmable automatic dosing removes the guesswork from shot-to-shot consistency

Right For You If:

  • Your daily drink count is 2–8 and you want commercial-grade components that grow with your skill.
  • You want programmable dosing for repeatable shots without the manual timing discipline of a fully manual machine.
  • You are pairing this with a capable grinder and value the E61 group head for thermal stability.

Things to Consider:

  • Handles bursts of 10–12 drinks well but requires recovery time and reservoir refills for sustained output.
  • The 20–30 minute warm-up is standard for E61 HX machines — plan on a smart plug or consistent schedule.
  • The E61 group delivers excellent thermal stability but is less precise than a PID-controlled system for very light roasts.

Our Take:

The Musica Pour Over is the reservoir version of the Musica platform with an E61 group and backlit LCD — a genuinely commercial machine that does not require a plumber to install. If you want NSF-grade extraction and programmable dosing in a package that works on any countertop, this is the machine that bridges home and commercial without pretending to be either.

Musica Pour Over Espresso Machine by Nuova Simonelli

The Musica by Nuova Simonelli has been praised for its technology, multi-functionality and reliability. This stylish professional home espresso machine features a sizeable 2 liter boiler, 3 liter reservoir, programmable automated brewing and is even NSF rated. It is a professional cafe experience made for your kitchen.

Professional Build

The Musica is a high performance home espresso machine due to professional components like the filter holder, the temperature compensated group and the articulated steam wand. Added to this are technical and ergonomic features to simplify its use, as with the push and pull steam lever and the soft-touch backlit control panel.

Automatic Dosing

With volumetric dosing you are able to program multiple doses and have your brews ready at the press of a button. Keep your extractions precise and consist with the ease of a button.

Get the Perfect Extraction

The Soft Infusion System, developed by the techs at Simonelli, is an innovative pre-infusion system that is adjustable, consistent and has no risk of user error. It is unique because it extracts centrifugally by injecting water at different angles into the coffee cake which eliminates channeling and maximizes espresso extraction by creating more contact time between the water and coffee

Thermostability

Fitted with a commercial grade grouphead the brew temperature stability is aided by the E61 style group head which is heated by a thermosyphon system and also by the copper boiler and water lines.

Elevate your coffee experience with the Musica today and receive a free espresso kit too.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Nuova Simonelli Musica Pour Over Automatic use a vibratory pump or a rotary pump?

The Nuova Simonelli Musica Pour Over Automatic uses a vibratory pump, not a rotary pump. Vibratory pumps are common in prosumer home and small‑office machines and are reliable, compact, and relatively quiet for this class of equipment.

Is the Musica Pour Over Automatic a direct‑plumb machine, or does it only use an internal water tank?

The Musica Pour Over Automatic is designed as a pour‑over machine and uses an internal water reservoir. It is not factory‑set up as a direct‑plumb model. Nuova Simonelli offers separate plumb‑in versions of the Musica if you prefer a direct water line.

Does this machine have pre‑infusion, and is it programmable?

Yes. The Musica features a soft pre‑infusion phase that gently wets the coffee puck before full pressure is applied. On the automatic (volumetric) version, you can program shot volumes, but the pre‑infusion itself is built into the extraction sequence rather than being a fully user‑tunable pre‑infusion profile.

Does the Musica have cool‑touch (no‑burn) steam wands?

Yes. The Musica is equipped with an insulated, cool‑touch steam wand. It runs cooler to the touch than traditional wands, helping reduce the risk of burns and making milk residue less likely to bake onto the wand.

Is this a heat‑exchanger machine or a dual‑boiler espresso machine?

The Nuova Simonelli Musica is a heat‑exchanger (HX) machine with a single boiler that uses a heat‑exchange system to brew espresso and produce steam at the same time. It is not a dual‑boiler design.

What is the boiler size and material, and how does that affect performance?

The Musica has a copper boiler of approximately 2.5 liters. Copper offers excellent thermal conductivity and temperature stability, which supports consistent brewing temperatures and strong steam performance for back-to-back drinks.

Can I adjust the brew temperature or pressure on the Musica Pour Over Automatic?

Brew temperature is controlled by the internal pressurestat and heat‑exchanger system and is not digitally adjustable like on PID‑controlled dual boilers. You can fine‑tune brew temperature using flushing techniques and, if needed, by having a technician adjust the pressurestat. Brew pressure is factory‑set around 9 bars; advanced users or technicians can adjust pump pressure via an internal adjustment screw, but it is not intended as a frequent user‑level control.

What kind of power does this machine require, and can I use it on a standard U.S. household circuit?

The Musica Pour Over Automatic is available in 110–120V configurations suitable for standard U.S. household outlets. It typically draws around 1200–1500W, so it should be placed on a dedicated 15‑amp circuit to avoid tripping breakers when used alongside other high‑draw appliances.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
