Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

A cafe machine shouldn't be a monument to complexity; it should be a tool that handles a Saturday morning rush without drifting. The Boxer fits into a compact footprint while utilizing grouphead shot timers to ensure your baristas stay on recipe when the line starts to wrap around the corner. It is a pragmatic choice for an operator who knows that a reputation is built on the consistency of the thousandth shot, not just the first. This is the foundation for a business that prioritizes the queue over the aesthetic.

Product Features

Brew And Steam Together

The heat-exchange design lets you pull shots and steam milk simultaneously so baristas don't wait to switch modes. Steam is always readily available, keeping service fast during peak periods.

T.E.A.+ Coated Heat Exchange

Copper/brass heat-exchange system with a T.E.A.+ coating reduces limescale adherence while retaining copper's thermal conductivity. For commercial settings this cuts maintenance intervals and helps preserve consistent boiler performance under heavy use.

Auto Refill Protection

An internal sensor detects low boiler water and automatically refills to prevent the heating element from running dry. That safeguard reduces risk of component failure and downtime in a busy café.

Grouphead Shot Timers

Each grouphead includes a shot timer and programmable coffee dosing so you can set extraction times per dosing option; enter programming mode by holding the green 'P' button. The same green 'P' button also allows semi-automatic manual dosing for on-the-fly control.

Precision Steam Control

There are 2 separate steam wands on each side of the machine, each activated by rotary knobs for finer control than joystick systems. Every wand uses a 4-hole steam tip for faster frothing and consistent microfoam production.

Commercial Boiler Capacity & Power

A 13.2-liter boiler paired with a 4,300 W heating circuit (208–240 V, 30 A) provides sustained steam and temperature stability for continuous service. These specs keep extraction and steaming consistent during long shifts.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • Pragmatic café operators who value simplicity — Straightforward controls and no-nonsense design mean your baristas spend time serving customers, not navigating menus
  • Café programs pulling 150-250 shots daily — The large heat-exchange boiler and robust construction handle steady commercial volume without fuss
  • Operators who want commercial reliability without commercial complexity — The Boxer delivers genuine two-group performance in a compact, serviceable package at a practical price point

Right For You If:

  • Your priority is a machine that handles your daily 150-250 shots consistently without requiring your baristas to manage complex settings.
  • You want a compact commercial machine that doesn't dominate your bar — the Boxer fits tight spaces without sacrificing group head performance.
  • Your workflow doesn't require programmable pre-infusion or pressure profiling — you want clean, reliable extraction and strong steam.

Things to Consider:

  • The 40-75 minute warm-up time means a smart plug or timer switch is essential to have the machine ready for opening.
  • No programmable pre-infusion or pressure profiling, so extraction flexibility is more limited — keep that in mind if precise profile control is a priority for your program.
  • The thermostatic temperature control is stable and reliable for consistent production, with single-point simplicity instead of per-group PID dialing.

Our Take:

The Boxer is Rocket's answer for operators who want commercial-grade output without the bells and whistles — it's a compact, well-built machine that handles a Saturday rush without drifting. If you want a machine that gets out of your way and lets your baristas work, the Boxer is a smart, honest choice.

Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group Commercial Espresso Machine

The BOXER is the ideal solution for businesses with limited space, as it is a compact machine that doesn't compromise on the necessary specifications to produce high-quality espresso. It is designed with oversized boiler capacities to handle any peak service demand.

What sets BOXER apart from other compact machines in the market is its exceptional style and finish, offering a premium experience that is rarely found in this category.

Advanced Temperature Stability

One of the standout features of the Rocket Milano Boxer 2 Group Commercial Espresso Machine is its advanced temperature stability, which ensures optimal brewing conditions for consistent and high-quality espresso extraction. This machine is equipped with a sophisticated temperature control system that maintains a precise and stable brewing temperature throughout the entire brewing process.

Automatic Backflush

The Rocket Milano Boxer 2 Group Commercial Espresso Machine boasts an impressive feature known as automatic backflush, which enhances the maintenance process and ensures optimal performance. With traditional machines, baristas have to manually perform backflushing, a process that involves cleaning the group heads and removing any residue or coffee grounds that may have accumulated. However, with the automatic backflush feature on the Rocket Milano Boxer, this task becomes significantly easier for baristas.

Volumetric Controls

At the touch of a button you can extract your programmed shot and even your pre-infusion, if selected. Let your baristas concentrate on other tasks while the Expression automatically pulls your shots.

Tall Cup Available

With its impressive 120mm clearance, this sleek and powerful machine allows you to brew your customers' favorite espresso directly into tall cups, eliminating the need for additional transfers or messy spills. This innovation not only streamlines the brewing process but also ensures that you can enjoy a perfectly layered and aromatic espresso shot without any hassle.

Heavy Duty Boiler

The Heavy Duty Boiler of the Rocket Milano Boxer 2 Group Commercial Espresso Machine is a prime feature that sets it apart from other machines in its class. With its large 13.2 liter boiler, you will be able to turn shots without any issues. Designed for optimal performance and durability, this machine boasts a robust and reliable boiler system that ensures consistent water temperature and pressure throughout the brewing process.

Cool Touch Wand

The Cool Touch Wand is an innovative feature of the Rocket Milano Boxer 2 Group Commercial Espresso Machine that offers a significant advantage for baristas. Traditionally, espresso machine wands can get hot during extended periods of use, which not only poses a safety risk but also makes it uncomfortable for baristas to handle. However, Rocket Espresso Milano has addressed this issue with their Cool Touch Wand.

Hand Crafted Brand

Rocket Espresso Milano merges the rich Italian legacy with expert craftsmanship and superior performance to produce espresso machines that enhance the coffee journey. Rooted in the Italian tradition of Fatto a Mano, meaning made by hand, Rocket Espresso prides itself on its dedicated team of expert craftsmen who meticulously handcraft premium espresso machines for both household and commercial use. Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group have rotary pumps or vibratory pumps?

The Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group is equipped with commercial-grade rotary pumps for each group. Rotary pumps are quieter than vibratory pumps, provide more consistent pressure, and are designed for continuous, high‐volume use in a café or restaurant setting.

Is the Boxer 2 Group a direct-plumb only machine, or can it use a water tank?

The Boxer 2 Group is a direct-plumb (hard‑plumb) commercial espresso machine and does not use an internal water tank. It must be connected to your building’s water line and properly filtered and pressure‑regulated according to the installation instructions.

Does this machine offer pre-infusion, and is the pre-infusion programmable?

Yes. The Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group provides pre‑infusion to gently soak the coffee puck before full pressure extraction. On most Boxer configurations, pre‑infusion is controlled electronically via the volumetric programming, allowing you to fine‑tune shot profiles for consistency and flavor.

Are the steam wands cool-touch or no-burn on the Boxer 2 Group?

Yes. The Boxer 2 Group comes with insulated, cool‑touch (no‑burn) steam wands. They stay significantly cooler to the touch than traditional wands, which helps prevent burns and reduces milk from sticking to the wand, making cleanup easier.

Is the Rocket Boxer 2 Group a volumetric machine, and can I program shot volumes?

Yes. The Boxer 2 Group is a volumetric commercial espresso machine. Each group head has programmable dosing buttons that allow you to set specific shot volumes (such as single, double, or custom volumes). Once programmed, the machine will automatically stop the shot at the set volume for consistent results.

What power and electrical requirements does the Boxer 2 Group have for installation in the US?

Electrical requirements vary slightly by model, but the Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group requires a 220–240V, 50/60 Hz, dedicated circuit in the US. Amperage is usually in the 20–30A range depending on configuration. Always check the specific model’s rating plate and consult a licensed electrician to ensure correct wiring and breaker size.

What size boiler does the Rocket Boxer 2 Group have, and is it heat-exchange or dual boiler?

The Rocket Espresso Boxer 2 Group uses a large, single heat‑exchange boiler (not a dual‑boiler system). The boiler is typically in the 8–12 liter range for the 2‑group model (exact size may vary by version). The heat‑exchange design allows you to brew espresso and steam milk simultaneously with excellent thermal stability.

Can the Boxer 2 Group keep up with high-volume commercial use in a café or restaurant?

Yes. The Boxer 2 Group is built as a commercial‑grade machine for medium‑to‑high volume environments. Its large heat‑exchange boiler, rotary pump, and two independent group heads allow multiple baristas to pull shots and steam milk at the same time without significant drops in temperature or pressure.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
