Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

Maintaining a consistent extraction during a morning rush is less about talent and more about having a machine that won't give an inch. The Sanremo Renegade Cafe Racer 3 Group handles the heavy lifting of a high-volume program, using its Multi-Boiler system to keep temperatures locked where you set them regardless of how many tickets are on the rail. It signals to your staff and customers that you take their coffee as seriously as you take your hardware, providing a level of stability that removes guesswork from the workflow. Put it on your bar if you're ready to stop managing equipment drift and start managing your shop.

Product Features

3-Group Configuration

Three groups run simultaneously to support multiple baristas and stations during peak service. The 3-Group Configuration is built for the throughput that busy cafés and events demand, keeping output consistent across operators.

Volumetric Dosing

Program shot volumes once and the machine doses precisely every time, so baristas can focus on service instead of manual timing. Volumetric Dosing delivers repeatable, café-grade shots at high throughput for consistent cup quality during busy periods.

Multi-Boiler System

A dedicated steam boiler (10 L, 3.85 kW) plus individual brew boilers (1.5 L, 2.4 kW each) and a preheating boiler (1.5 L, 1.5 kW) provide targeted thermal stability for shot extraction and steam production. Separating boilers for groups and steam keeps temperature and pressure stable under heavy load.

Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System

Fine control over water flow and pre-infusion time lets you manage extraction dynamics for clearer, more balanced shots. The Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System reduces channeling risk and improves flavor clarity across variable doses and grind changes.

Smart-Touch Control

Individual groups can be managed from the Smart-Touch interface for efficient brewing and quick adjustments during service. Group-level control speeds workflow and reduces training time for new baristas while maintaining consistent dosing.

Energy Saving System

Insulation and intelligent energy management reduce consumption by up to 30%, lowering operating costs without sacrificing performance. The Energy Saving System is valuable for high-use environments where energy spend and heat load matter.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • High-volume specialty cafés — Multi-boiler system with 400–750 shot capacity and soft pre-infusion handles the busiest shifts with extraction precision
  • Coffee chains and roasteries wanting flagship performance — The Renegade Cafe Racer line combines Sanremo's top-tier engineering with the throughput needed for multi-location operations
  • Barista teams who want modern controls with commercial reliability — LCD touchscreen and energy saving system deliver contemporary interface with proven Italian commercial build

Right For You If:

  • Your daily shot count is 300–750 and you need multi-boiler independence to maintain temperature precision across all three groups during sustained peak service.
  • Your baristas are comfortable with touchscreen controls and can leverage volumetric programming for consistent output across a team.
  • You have direct plumbing, 220V power (NEMA 6-50), and dedicated counter space for a full 3-group commercial machine.

Things to Consider:

  • Multi-boiler systems cost more to operate and maintain than heat exchangers — expect higher energy bills and more frequent professional service intervals.
  • The Cafe Racer design is bold and distinctive — if your space has a more traditional or understated aesthetic, the visual impact may not align with your brand.
  • LCD touchscreen controls are modern and capable but add electronic complexity — ensure your local service network is comfortable with Sanremo's touchscreen systems before committing.

Our Take:

The Renegade is Sanremo's multi-boiler machine for cafés that push serious volume — 400–750 shots daily with independent temperature control and soft pre-infusion is a combination that keeps extraction quality high even during the morning rush. If your operation demands both throughput and precision, the Renegade delivers on both fronts.

Touchscreen Features

Automate and control the parameters of extraction with a touchscreen that provides greater precision. Program up to 4 doses, what days it turns on and even the cleaning. You can also access maintenance and analytics displays.

Coffee Delivery System (CDS)

The CDS pioneered by Sanremo gives the barista greater control. With the CDS you can control all three phases of extraction (pre-infusion, infusion, post-infusion) and adjust for different parameters.

Automatic Espresso Machine

Automatic espresso machines have revolutionized the way baristas operate in coffee shops, allowing them to focus on other tasks while still producing high-quality espressos. With programmable doses, baristas can set specific measurements for each shot of espresso, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the brewing process. This feature not only helps save time but also maintains the quality and flavor of the final product. Meanwhile, they can also focus on other tasks such as taking money, steaming milk, or other work tasks.

Automatic Espresso Machine

Efficiency to Perform

The Cafe Racer has a multi-boiler system that separates the water circuits, allowing the machine to generate steam and simultaneously maintain optimal control parameters for the extraction of coffee in terms of temperature and pressure, one espresso after another, during long periods of operation and intense workload.

Thermostability

Exclusively designed by Sanremo, the grouphead is manufactured from AISI 316 Stainless Steel. This, coupled with the multi-boiler system, ensures highly accurate thermal stability and maximum resistance to oxidation and lime scale in the group.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Is the Sanremo Renegade Café Racer 3 Group an automatic (volumetric) machine or a semi-automatic machine?

The Sanremo Renegade Café Racer 3 Group is a fully automatic (volumetric) commercial espresso machine. Each group can be programmed with multiple dose buttons to deliver consistent shot volumes at the touch of a button, while still allowing for manual control if desired.

Does the Café Racer 3 Group have a rotary pump and what is the operating pump pressure?

Yes. The Café Racer 3 Group is equipped with a commercial rotary pump designed for continuous, high-volume use. Pump pressure is typically set around 9 bar for brewing espresso and can be adjusted by a technician to match your coffee and workflow requirements.

Is this machine direct plumb only, or can it use an internal water reservoir?

The Renegade Café Racer 3 Group is designed as a direct-plumbed commercial machine and must be connected to a mains water line and drain. It does not include an internal water reservoir and is not intended for use as a pour-over unit.

Does the Café Racer offer pre-infusion or profiling features to improve shot extraction?

Yes. The Café Racer includes programmable pre-infusion that gently soaks the coffee puck before full pressure is applied, helping to reduce channeling and improve extraction consistency. Depending on the configuration, it may also allow basic pressure curve adjustments managed via the onboard electronics.

Are the steam wands cool-touch or no-burn, and how many steam wands does it have?

The Café Racer 3 Group comes with two high-performance steam wands that are cool-touch (often referred to as no-burn). This design significantly reduces the risk of burns and minimizes milk sticking to the wand, making cleanup easier and safer for baristas.

Does the machine use a multi-boiler system, and can temperatures be set independently for each group?

Yes. The Café Racer features a multi-boiler system, with dedicated brew boilers for each group and a separate steam boiler. This allows you to set and maintain independent brewing temperatures for each group head, giving you the flexibility to run different coffees or profiles simultaneously while keeping steam pressure stable.

What kind of power and electrical requirements does the Sanremo Renegade Café Racer 3 Group have for US installations?

For US use, the Café Racer 3 Group requires a 220–240V dedicated single-phase circuit (NEMA 6-50) and draws 15–34A depending on power settings (ships at 27A/6500W). A licensed electrician should install a 50A circuit per local codes.

Does the Café Racer 3 Group include built-in shot timers and a digital display for monitoring parameters?

Yes. The machine is equipped with digital displays and controls that provide per-group shot timers and allow you to monitor key parameters such as boiler temperatures, brewing temperatures, and in some configurations, extraction data. This helps baristas maintain consistency and quality during service.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
