A three-group machine on the counter is a clear signal to your customers that you have moved past the hobbyist phase and into serious production. The Cafe Racer manages the technical heavy lifting with its Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System, ensuring that even during a relentless morning rush, the extraction remains predictable. It’s a tool for the operator who knows that an aesthetic machine only matters if it can maintain a specific temperature for eight hours straight. Your baristas will appreciate the clarity, and your reputation will benefit from the consistency.
Product Features
Multi-Boiler System
Consistent thermal stability keeps group temperature steady and shot-to-shot extraction reliable during rush periods. Dedicated boiler control means temperature variance doesn't compound across a long service window.
3-Group Configuration
Runs 3 groups simultaneously for high-volume service. Multiple baristas and stations can operate at once, delivering the throughput and consistency busy cafés and events demand.
Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System
Delivers precise control over water flow and pre-infusion times, ensuring optimal espresso extraction. The Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System helps tame channeling and improve consistency across large service volumes.
Smart-Touch Control
Allows precise settings adjustments for individual groups directly through a smart-touch interface. Smart-Touch Control speeds up programmable dosing and on-the-fly tweaks for consistent drinks when service is busy.
Volumetric Pump
Maintains performance and consistent pressure under all conditions to protect extraction quality during back-to-back pulls. The Volumetric Pump keeps pressure stable so each shot matches your set volume and profile.
Energy Saving System
Incorporates insulation and intelligent energy management, cutting energy usage by up to 30%. For high-volume operations this reduces operating costs without compromising uptime or thermal control.
The Coffeeionado Take
Who's It For:
Design-forward specialty cafés — White and wood Cafe Racer aesthetic makes a visual statement while the multi-boiler system delivers serious extraction control
High-volume coffee bars with skilled baristas — Independent boiler control per group and 400–800 shot capacity handle the busiest rushes with temperature precision
Café groups and roasteries wanting flagship equipment — The Cafe Racer line is Sanremo's statement piece — performance and design that signals serious coffee commitment
Right For You If:
Your daily shot count is 300–800 and you need independent boiler temperature control to dial in a diverse menu of light and medium roasts.
Your baristas are experienced enough to leverage multi-boiler temperature precision and soft pre-infusion — this machine rewards skill with superior shot quality.
You have direct plumbing, 220V power (NEMA 6-50), and enough counter space for a full 3-group commercial footprint with room to breathe.
Things to Consider:
Multi-boiler precision comes with higher energy consumption and more complex maintenance than heat exchanger alternatives — budget for professional service and higher utility costs.
The Cafe Racer aesthetic is distinctive — make sure the white and wood finish aligns with your space's design direction, because this machine is a visual centerpiece.
Smart-touch controls and touchscreen interfaces add capability but also add potential failure points compared to simpler button-and-dial commercial machines — reliable, but service access matters.
Our Take:
The Cafe Racer in white and wood is Sanremo's showpiece — it looks like nothing else on the market and the multi-boiler internals back up the visual promise with real extraction precision. If your café is as much about the experience as the espresso and you have the barista skill to unlock multi-boiler control, this machine makes a statement every time someone walks in the door.

Why It Matters
Total Hardness
50-170 ppm
Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level
6.5-7.5
Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine
0 ppm
Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion

Important Note
Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.
Advisory
Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.
What This Means
Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
Improper water can damage internal components over time
Machine-Specific Considerations
Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides
Does the Sanremo Café Racer 3-Group have a rotary pump or a vibratory pump?
The Sanremo Café Racer uses a commercial-grade rotary pump, designed for stable pressure delivery and quieter operation suitable for professional café environments.
Is the Café Racer 3-Group a direct-plumb-only machine, or can it use a water tank?
The Café Racer 3-Group is a direct-plumb commercial machine and must be connected to a mains water line. It does not include an internal reservoir for tank-only operation.
Does this machine offer programmable pre-infusion or soft pre-infusion for each group?
Yes. The Café Racer features programmable pre-infusion for each group head, allowing you to fine-tune pre-infusion time and pressure profiles per recipe for better extraction consistency.
Are the steam wands on the Café Racer 3-Group cool-touch or no-burn?
Yes. The machine is equipped with cool-touch, insulated steam wands designed to minimize burn risk and reduce milk buildup on the wand surface.
Is the Café Racer a dual-boiler system or multiboiler, and can I control temperature by group?
The Café Racer is a multi-boiler machine. Each group head has its own independent brew boiler with PID temperature control, allowing you to set and maintain different brew temperatures for each group. It also has a dedicated steam boiler for powerful, consistent steam.
What kind of power and electrical requirements does the 3-group Café Racer have for use in the United States?
The 3-group Café Racer is a high-powered commercial unit that requires a 220–240V, 60Hz, hard-wired connection on a dedicated circuit. Exact amperage and wiring details can vary by configuration, so it’s recommended to review the technical spec sheet and consult a licensed electrician to ensure compliance with local codes.
Can I program different shot volumes and recipes per group head on this machine?
Yes. As an automatic (volumetric) espresso machine, the Café Racer lets you program multiple dose settings per group (such as single, double, and manual). Each group can store separate recipes, which is helpful if you serve multiple coffees or decaf from different groups.
Does the Café Racer 3-Group support pressure profiling or just a fixed pump pressure?
The Café Racer offers advanced pressure and flow control that can be configured via its onboard electronics. It supports a form of pressure/flow profiling and customizable extraction curves, rather than being locked to a single fixed pump pressure like more basic commercial machines.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.
At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.
Which Machines Qualify
Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.
If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.
What's Included
Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself
Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.
How Installation Is Arranged
Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:
Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.
Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.
We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.
What's Not Included
The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:
Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation
Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.
Water Filtration Requirement
Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.
If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.
Service Area
Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.
Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.
After Installation
Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.
Governing Terms
This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.
Can I pick up the machine at your store?
We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.
However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
