Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

A two-group machine is a public commitment to the people standing on both sides of your counter. It signals to your baristas that you value their workflow as much as the result, particularly when you provide the granular oversight of Brewing Pressure Profile Control. You are installing a standard for your business that remains stable even when the line is out the door and the morning rush is at its peak. It is time to stop managing the limitations of your hardware and start managing your coffee.

Product Features

Dual PIDs

Dual PIDs provide independent temperature control for each boiler—PID for Coffee Temperature and PID for Steam Temperature—so shot temperature and steam readiness remain stable under continuous use. That precise thermal control reduces shot-to-shot variation during busy service.

Brewing Pressure Profile Control (BPPC)

Brewing Pressure Profile Control (BPPC) lets you adjust water pressure during the infusion so you can program pressure ramps for different coffees. In a high-volume setting this delivers repeatable shot development and the flexibility to dial pressure curves that highlight desired acidity, body and sweetness.

Dual Boiler With Steam Switch-Off

A dedicated coffee boiler (0.6 l) and steam boiler (1.8 l) — the steam boiler in copper & brass — give simultaneous brewing and steaming capacity. You can also switch off the steam boiler when it’s not required, saving energy and reducing thermal cycling during variable service periods.

Rotary Pump & Plumb-In Ready

The rotary pump (8–9 bar) and included tubing support permanent water supply connection for consistent pressure and uninterrupted service. A plumbed configuration plus rotary pump steadiness makes the machine suited to continuous café throughput.

E61 Brass Brewing Unit & Competition Filters

An E61 brass brewing group (chromed) with a 58 mm filter-holder diameter accepts the supplied competition filters and competition shower heads (blind/competition 16 g / 20 g). That hardware delivers stable thermal mass and reliable extraction suited to precise recipe work and cafe service.

Comprehensive Pressure, Temp & Water Monitoring

On-machine diagnostics include Pump Manometer, Boiler Manometer and Brewing Unit Manometer plus a temperature light indicator, electronic automatic water level and anti-vacuum valve. These readouts and protections speed troubleshooting and keep extraction consistent during heavy shifts.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • New café operators — Two-group configuration and volumetric dosing let you serve a growing customer base without overcomplicating the workflow for a new team
  • Restaurant and hospitality coffee programs — Programmable dosing and intuitive controls reduce training time, so rotating staff can produce consistent drinks without deep espresso knowledge
  • Mid-volume specialty cafés — Sanremo proprietary group heads and a large 11L boiler deliver the thermal mass needed for sustained 150–350 drink days

Right For You If:

  • You are opening your first café or upgrading from a single-group and need reliable two-group throughput without a steep learning curve.
  • Your service model depends on consistency across multiple baristas — volumetric dosing keeps every shot within spec even when the rush hits.
  • You have 220–240V power and a direct water line ready for a plumbed-in commercial installation.

Things to Consider:

  • Heat exchanger design with a 40–75 minute warm-up — you will need to power on well before service starts, or use a timer plug to automate it.
  • AutoSteam is available as an optional upgrade, but the base model relies on manual steam wands — factor in training time if your staff is not experienced with milk texturing.
  • Water line fitting size is not published by Sanremo — confirm the exact inlet specification with your installer or distributor before plumbing.

Our Take:

The D8 is a two-group machine built for consistent output, and it delivers where it matters: dependable shots and a boiler big enough to keep up with a real morning rush. If you want Sanremo build quality without the price tag of their flagship multi-boiler units, this is the one that makes sense for a growing shop.

Touch Keypad Controls

From the top of the group you can set out your parameters and control you automatic dosings. The display has a shot clock and allows 7 programmable doses for easier operations. The color LCD display will show you the precise temperature you are brewing at.

Temperature Control for Each Group

The Sanremo D8 features individually adjustable brew group temperatures, giving baristas precise control over extraction for each group. Each grouphead includes its own integrated 300-watt heating element, ensuring exceptional thermal stability and consistency—especially during high-volume service.

Volumetric Controls

Volumetric espresso machines with automated features offer a great solution for coffee shops and home users alike. From easy-to-use programmable features, to increased consistency in every cup of espresso, these machines make brewing the perfect cup easier than ever before. When using espresso machines with volumetric pumps, you benefit from their precision. These pumps guarantee accurate water-to-coffee ratios, a key factor in making great espresso.

2 Group Automatic Espresso Machine

Automatic espresso machines have revolutionized the way baristas operate in coffee shops, allowing them to focus on other tasks while still producing high-quality espressos. With programmable doses, baristas can set specific measurements for each shot of espresso, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the brewing process. This feature not only helps save time but also maintains the quality and flavor of the final product. Meanwhile, they can also focus on other tasks such as taking money, steaming milk, or other work tasks.

Stainless Steel Boiler

Stainless steel boilers in espresso machines offer exceptional durability and corrosion resistance. They are designed to withstand daily use without losing efficiency, even in high humidity or water-exposed environments.

This standard model features a PID, which allows for programmable boiler temperature.

Despite having lower thermal conductivity than copper, stainless-steel boilers require less material for construction. Additionally, they are compatible with descaling chemicals, making maintenance hassle-free for optimal performance.

Thermostability

Exclusively designed by Sanremo, the grouphead is manufactured from AISI 316 Stainless Steel. This, coupled with the heated-grouphead system, ensures highly accurate thermal stability and maximum resistance to oxidation and lime scale in the group. Allowing you to always brew at the set water temperature.

Barista Lights

Work is easy with this Sanremo commercial espresso machine since you don't need to worry about shadows. The LED barista lights provide front panel illumination allowing barista comfort and safety so that they see what they are doing and not work in the dark.

Cool Touch Steam Wands

With these revolutionary features, you can froth and steam milk without any concerns about getting burned. The cold touch steam wands technology ensures that the wand remains at a safe temperature, allowing you to focus on creating the perfect espresso drinks without any worries. Say goodbye to accidental burns and hello to a more enjoyable coffee-making process with our state-of-the-art espresso machine.

Shot timer

Digital Shot Timer Built In

The presence of a shot timer on your espresso machine provides numerous benefits, particularly for individuals who enjoy making coffee at home. Consistency and precision are key factors in the extraction of espresso shots. By maintaining consistent timing with the help of a shot timer, you can ensure that each shot is extracted for the same duration, leading to a well-balanced and flavorful cup of coffee.

Dual Manometer

You'll find dual manometers on espresso machines for monitoring brew and steam pressure. The brew pressure gauge checks the resistance from the coffee grounds in the filter basket when the pump is running to ensure optimal extraction. Meanwhile, the steam pressure gauge on heat exchange or dual boiler machines shows the boiler's steam pressure for safety.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Is the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic equipped with a rotary pump or a vibration pump?

The Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic uses a commercial-grade rotary pump, which delivers consistent pressure for better extraction and allows for direct plumbing into a water line, making it suitable for high-volume café environments.

Does the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic Espresso Machine support pre-infusion, and is it adjustable?

Yes. The Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic features a pre-infusion stage that gently wets the coffee puck before full pressure is applied. On most configurations, the pre-infusion time and parameters can be adjusted by a technician through the machine’s control menu, allowing you to fine-tune extractions for different coffees.

Are the steam wands on the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic cool-touch or no-burn?

The machine is typically supplied with cool-touch (no-burn) steam wands. These wands stay significantly cooler than traditional single-wall wands, helping prevent burns and reducing milk residue buildup. Always verify the exact configuration with your reseller, as options can vary by market or package.

Is this machine direct-plumb only, or can it use a built-in water tank?

The Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic is designed as a commercial, direct-plumbed machine. It connects directly to your water line and does not use a pour-over reservoir. Proper water filtration and pressure regulation are strongly recommended for performance and warranty protection.

What are the power requirements for the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic in the US?

For US installations, the D8 2 Group Automatic typically requires a 220–240V, 50/60 Hz, dedicated circuit with sufficient amperage (commonly in the 20–30A range, depending on configuration). A licensed electrician should confirm and install the correct breaker and outlet based on the machine’s data plate and local code.

Does the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic have individual brew boilers, or is it a single-boiler heat-exchanger system?

The D8 2 Group Automatic is built as a multi-boiler system with separate boilers for brewing and steam/hot water. This design allows for more stable brew temperatures on each group and strong, consistent steam pressure, even during peak rush periods.

Can I program shot volumes and temperatures for each group head on the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic?

Yes. The D8 2 Group Automatic is a volumetric (automatic) machine. You can program multiple shot volumes per group—such as single, double, and lungo—through the control panel. In multi-boiler configurations, a technician can also set or adjust brew temperatures for each group to match different coffees or roast levels.

What kind of water filtration or treatment is recommended for the Sanremo D8 2 Group Automatic to protect the boiler and maintain warranty?

A commercial-grade water filtration system is strongly recommended, typically including sediment and carbon filtration plus scale control (such as a softener or anti-scale system) sized for your water hardness and usage. Sanremo and most US distributors require proper water treatment to prevent limescale buildup and corrosion and to keep the warranty valid.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
