Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

A two-group machine only earns its place on a busy bar if it holds its shape when the tickets stack up. The F18 2 Group pairs independent, PID-controlled brew boilers with a dedicated steam boiler, so pulling shots on one group doesn't rob temperature from the other and steaming milk doesn't cost you your next espresso. Programmable volumetric dosing means your team sets it once and every shot lands the same, whoever is on the machine. This is the platform for an operator who has stopped tolerating drift as the cost of doing volume.

Product Features

Consistency: Precise volumetric dosing and temperature-stable boiler system for repeatable, café-quality espresso shot after shot
Speed: 2-group automatic operation with fast heat recovery and programmable dosing to serve high-volume orders quickly
Steam Power: Commercial-grade steam performance and ergonomic wand design for rapid milk texturing and silky microfoam
Usability: Intuitive button interface and programmable settings reduce training time and minimize operator errors
Durability & Serviceability: Robust stainless-steel construction with accessible service panels and commercial components for low downtime
Compact Efficiency: Space-saving footprint with energy-efficient operation to maximize counter space and improve ROI

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

Right For You If:

  • Your shop runs a steady 200+ drinks a day and you need independent group temperature control, not a shared heat-exchange compromise.
  • You want volumetric, programmable dosing so shot consistency doesn't depend on who's working the bar.
  • You have, or are installing, a dedicated 220-240V circuit and direct water line — this is a full commercial installation.

Things to Consider:

  • This is a direct-plumbed commercial machine — it requires a dedicated water line, drain connection, and proper electrical service before installation.
  • Independent group boilers add real capability, but also more to maintain long-term than a simpler heat-exchanger design.
  • Confirm your electrician sizes the circuit to the specific unit's data plate — amperage varies by configuration (25-31A range).

Our Take:

The F18 2 Group is what you install when a heat-exchanger machine can no longer keep up with your morning rush — independent boilers and PID control mean espresso quality doesn't dip the moment someone starts steaming. It's a serious, no-compromise choice for a café that has genuinely outgrown its starter equipment.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Does the Sanremo F18 2 Group have a rotary pump, and how loud is it during operation?

Yes. The Sanremo F18 2 Group uses a commercial-grade rotary pump, which is designed for continuous use and is significantly quieter than a vibration pump. In a typical café environment, pump noise is minimal compared to ambient shop noise.

Is the Sanremo F18 2 Group a direct-plumbed machine, and does it require a dedicated water line and drain?

Yes. The F18 is a direct-plumbed commercial espresso machine and must be connected to a pressurized water line and a waste drain. It is not designed to run off a pour-over or internal water tank. Professional plumbing installation and an appropriate water filtration/softening system are strongly recommended.

Does the Sanremo F18 offer pre-infusion or soft-infusion, and can it be adjusted?

Yes. The F18 includes programmable pre-infusion to gently saturate the coffee puck before full pressure extraction. Pre-infusion time and sometimes pressure can be adjusted through the machine’s settings (via the display and control panel), allowing baristas to fine-tune extraction based on coffee and recipe.

Are the steam wands on the Sanremo F18 cool-touch or no-burn, and how many steam wands does it include?

The F18 2 Group is equipped with two cool-touch (no-burn) steam wands. These wands stay noticeably cooler to the touch than traditional steam wands, reducing burn risk and preventing milk from scorching or sticking to the wand’s exterior. An independent hot-water outlet is also typically included.

Is the Sanremo F18 a fully automatic (volumetric) machine, and can I program shot volumes for each group?

Yes. The F18 is a volumetric automatic espresso machine. Each group head has programmable dose buttons that allow you to set and save shot volumes (e.g., single, double, lungo). Once programmed, the machine will automatically stop the shot at the set volume, helping ensure consistency and improving workflow in busy service.

What kind of power requirements does the Sanremo F18 2 Group have, and is it compatible with standard US electrical service?

The F18 2 Group requires a dedicated 220-240V, 60Hz single-phase circuit rated in the 25-35A range depending on configuration, wired for a NEMA L6-30 receptacle by a licensed electrician per your unit's data plate.

What is the boiler configuration on the Sanremo F18 2 Group, and does it use a heat-exchanger or multi-boiler system?

The F18 2 Group is a traditional single-boiler design with independent brew and steam circuits, PID-controlled for precise temperature at each group and stable steam output during heavy use.

Does the Sanremo F18 have PID temperature control and independent temperature settings for each group head?

Yes. The F18 uses PID temperature control for precise management of both the steam boiler and the individual coffee boilers. Each group head can be set to its own brew temperature through the electronic control panel, allowing you to dial in different coffees or roast levels on separate groups.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 90 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is the customer's responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be the customer's responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If the customer's location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain the customer's responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

What to Expect on Install Day

Getting a commercial espresso machine delivered is one thing. Getting it actually running — plumbed, programmed, and pulling properly — is another. Here's what happens when the technician comes out.

Before the appointment: Site preparation will be confirmed before technicians make it out. Once your machine ships, we'll coordinate scheduling with you and assign a local certified technician. Before they arrive, make sure your space is ready: the machine's permanent location should be determined, your water line and drain access should be in place, and your electrical supply should match the machine's requirements.

On the day The technician will handle the physical installation of the machine — positioning, water line connection, and drain setup. Once it's plumbed and powered, they'll run through the setup and basic programming: boiler pressure, shot parameters, and confirming that water flows correctly through the group heads and steam wands. Some basic training will be provided, they'll pull test shots to verify the machine is operating within spec.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
