Powering Hundreds of Businesses Including:

Putting a three-group machine on your counter is a statement about the volume you expect and the standard you intend to keep. The F18SB is built for the operator who needs the Group SR 61 to maintain thermal stability when the morning line stretches out the door and doesn't let up. It transforms the technical demands of high-output brewing into a predictable routine, ensuring the tenth shot of the hour tastes exactly like the first. Your baristas will appreciate the clarity this brings to their shift.

Product Features

Volumetric Control & Pump

Volumetric Control automatically stops each group when the programmed shot volume is reached, speeding service and removing human variability. The High-Performance Volumetric Pump maintains stable pressure even with simultaneous use across groups, so volumes and extraction profiles stay consistent during rushes.

Pre-Infusion Chamber With Control

Pre-infuses coffee at a lower pressure so extractions start evenly and consistently — adjustable by the barista for on-the-fly tuning. For high-volume settings this reduces channeling and helps shots remain repeatable across busy service periods.

Group SR 61

Chromed brass Group SR 61 grouphead uses thermosiphon circulation to keep group temperature steady during continuous pulls. That stable extraction temperature translates to more consistent shots across back-to-back orders in a café environment.

Electronic Temperature Control System

PID-regulated boiler pressure is displayed on the LCD so steam and brew temperatures can be monitored and adjusted quickly. Tight temperature control reduces shot-to-shot variance and helps teams hit target profiles reliably throughout service.

Energy-Saving System

Smart insulation and energy management cut electricity use by up to 40%, lowering operating costs for busy shops. The energy features help balance performance with daytime energy budgets without compromising steam or extraction availability.

Automatic Cleaning Cycle

Programmable Automatic Cleaning Cycles simplify daily maintenance and ensure groups are flushed and cleaned on a schedule. That reduces downtime, keeps group hygiene consistent, and helps maintain extraction quality across shifts.

The Coffeeionado Take

Who's It For:

  • High-volume cafés and coffee chains — 18L boiler and three groups handle 350–600 shots daily with electronic temperature control for consistent output
  • Hospitality programs needing energy efficiency — Built-in energy-saving system reduces operating costs without sacrificing peak-hour performance
  • Operators who want digital precision with proven HX reliability — Multifunction digital display and volumetric controls combine modern interface feedback with heat exchanger simplicity

Right For You If:

  • Your daily volume is 300–600 shots and you need an 18L boiler that can sustain three groups through a morning rush without temperature sag.
  • You want an electronic temperature control system — a step above basic thermostatic control — without the cost and complexity of independent boilers.
  • You have a 220V circuit (NEMA L6-30) and direct plumbing — this is a serious commercial machine that needs proper infrastructure.

Things to Consider:

  • The pre-infusion chamber with control is a genuine quality upgrade over basic HX machines, but it still shares one boiler across groups — if you need independent group temperatures for a diverse single-origin menu, a multi-boiler is the better call.
  • The SR 61 group head is Sanremo proprietary — parts and service may have longer lead times than industry-standard E61 setups, so confirm local support before committing.
  • At 350–600 shots capacity this handles most independent café volumes, but operations consistently pushing the upper end should monitor boiler recovery during sustained peak hours.

Our Take:

The F18SB is Sanremo's answer for cafés that need serious daily volume without the premium of multi-boiler architecture — the 18L boiler and electronic temperature control keep shots consistent through the busiest shifts. If you are running 300–600 shots a day and want Sanremo quality at an HX price point, this machine delivers.

Water Quality & Machine Protection

Proper water quality is essential for optimal espresso extraction and long-term machine health. Use the guidelines below to ensure your machine performs at its best.

Parameter Ideal Range Why It Matters
Total Hardness 50-170 ppm Prevents scale buildup while maintaining flavor
pH Level 6.5-7.5 Ensures balanced extraction and protects internal components
Chlorine 0 ppm Eliminates off-flavors and prevents corrosion
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) 70-150 ppm Optimal mineral content for extraction and taste
Total Alkalinity ~7.0 Stabilizes acidity and extraction
Chloride 0-28 ppm Prevents corrosion (especially in steel boilers)

Important Note

Always refer to your machine's manual for specific water quality recommendations and maintenance schedules.

Advisory

Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.

What This Means

  • Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
  • Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
  • Improper water can damage internal components over time

Machine-Specific Considerations

  • Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides

Product FAQ

Is the Sanremo F18SB 3 Group Automatic a direct‑plumbed machine, or can it operate with a water reservoir?

The Sanremo F18SB 3 Group Automatic is designed as a commercial, direct‑plumbed machine. It must be connected to a mains water line and does not include a pour‑over or reservoir mode. A dedicated water line with proper filtration and pressure regulation is recommended for reliable performance and to maintain warranty coverage.

What type of pump does the F18SB 3 Group use, and how loud is it during operation?

The F18SB 3 Group uses a commercial rotary pump, which provides stable pressure and is significantly quieter than standard vibratory pumps. Noise levels are typical of high‑end shop equipment and are generally unobtrusive in a café environment when installed correctly with proper plumbing and isolation.

Does the F18SB have pre‑infusion, and can the pre‑infusion time or profile be adjusted?

Yes. The Sanremo F18SB features programmable pre‑infusion for each group. Baristas can adjust pre‑infusion time through the machine’s control interface, allowing fine‑tuning of extraction based on coffee, roast level, and grind. The exact adjustment range and steps depend on the firmware version, but in general you can customize pre‑infusion per dose button.

Are the steam wands on the F18SB cool‑touch or no‑burn, and are they multi‑directional?

The F18SB comes with insulated, cool‑touch steam wands designed to minimize the risk of burns and reduce milk sticking to the surface. The wands are fully articulated (multi‑directional), allowing baristas to position them comfortably with a range of milk pitcher sizes.

Is this a multiboiler machine, and can I control brew and steam temperatures independently?

Yes. The Sanremo F18SB 3 Group is a multiboiler system with separate boilers for brewing and steam. This allows independent temperature control for each brew boiler and the steam boiler. Brew temperatures can be set and adjusted for consistency across groups, and steam pressure can be tuned to your shop’s preference.

What kind of power and electrical requirements does the F18SB 3 Group have for installation in the US?

The 3‑group F18SB is a high‑power commercial machine and typically requires a dedicated 220–240V, 60 Hz circuit (often 30–40A, depending on configuration). Exact amperage and wiring requirements should be confirmed from the machine’s specification sheet, but you should plan on a dedicated, hard‑wired circuit installed by a licensed electrician in compliance with local codes.

Does the F18SB 3 Group have built‑in shot timers or a display to monitor extraction?

Yes. The F18SB is equipped with an onboard digital interface and per‑group information displays. Each group includes programmable volumetric dosing and integrated shot timers that start automatically when extraction begins, allowing baristas to monitor brew times and maintain consistency across drinks.

Is the machine fully automatic (volumetric), and can I program multiple doses per group?

The Sanremo F18SB is a fully automatic (volumetric) espresso machine. Each group typically offers multiple programmable buttons (for example: single, double, and continuous/manual) so you can set different volumes or recipes for each button. Once programmed, the machine will automatically stop the shot at the selected volume, improving speed and reproducibility.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.

At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.

Which Machines Qualify

Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.

If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.

What's Included

  • Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
  • Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
  • Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
  • Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself

Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.

How Installation Is Arranged

Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:

Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.

Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.

We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.

What's Not Included

The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:

  • Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
  • Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
  • Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
  • Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
  • False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation

Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.

Water Filtration Requirement

Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.

If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.

Service Area

Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.

Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.

After Installation

Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.

Governing Terms

This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.

Can I pick up the machine at your store?

We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.

However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
