Your output has finally outpaced your counter space, and a single group head is no longer an option for the volume you need to maintain. The Fiamma Caravel 2 Group Compact fits into the tight corners of a small shop or a dedicated home bar without demanding the footprint of a full-sized commercial rig. It provides the redundancy and workflow of a professional multi-group setup while acknowledging that square footage is often your most expensive asset. It is the practical choice for moving from a hobbyist setup to a legitimate production environment.
Product Features
Compact Footprint
The model is described as 'Compact', so it’s designed to deliver multi-group capability in a reduced counter space. That makes the Caravel suitable where a full-size commercial machine would overwhelm the layout but you still need professional capacity.
Two-Group Configuration
The product name includes '2 Group', indicating a two-group setup. That configuration supports preparing multiple extractions without swapping portafilters—useful for high-tempo home or small-shop workflows where throughput and rhythm matter.
Fiamma Brand
The machine carries the Fiamma name, signalling its place within Fiamma’s product family. For buyers who follow manufacturers, the brand label helps set expectations around design choices and parts compatibility tied to Fiamma equipment.
Caravel Model Line
The 'Caravel' designation identifies this machine’s model line within Fiamma’s range. Knowing the model lets operators reference specific Caravel documentation, service parts, and accessories when planning maintenance or upgrades.
Espresso-Focused Design
The product is explicitly an 'Espresso Machine', indicating its intended purpose for espresso extraction rather than a multi-drink appliance. That focus informs decisions on workflow, grinder pairing, and shot-profile development.
Prosumers And Small Shops Fit
The combination of '2 Group' and 'Compact' in the name points this model at high-end home users or small commercial outlets seeking professional extraction capability without a large footprint. It’s a practical choice when you need café-level output in a constrained space.
The Coffeeionado Take
Who's It For:
New café operators with limited counter space — Two-group capacity in a compact frame delivers professional throughput without the footprint of a full-sized commercial machine
Mobile coffee operations and pop-ups — The compact design fits tight counters and mobile setups while still delivering commercial-grade steam and extraction performance
Small cafés scaling up from single-group equipment — Moving from one group to two eliminates the bottleneck during morning rush without requiring a complete bar redesign
Right For You If:
Your counter space is limited but you need two-group throughput to handle 75–150 shots per shift without bottlenecking service.
You want programmable volumetric dosing so your baristas can deliver consistent shot volumes without manual timing.
You have a direct water line or reservoir option and 220–240V power available at your installation site.
Things to Consider:
The compact footprint means a smaller boiler than full-sized two-groups — thermal recovery during sustained extreme peaks may be slower, so plan for brief pauses if your rush consistently pushes both groups flat-out.
The 20–30 minute heat-up is fast for a commercial machine, but confirm that the compact frame doesn't compromise steam capacity for your milk-drink volume — high-volume latte service may stress the steam system during peak periods.
Our Take:
The Caravel Compact solves the space problem without sacrificing professional output — two-group throughput and programmable dosing in a footprint designed for small bars and mobile setups where every inch counts. If your volume is moderate and your counter space is the real constraint, this is the pragmatic upgrade from single-group equipment.

Automatic Espresso Machine
Automatic espresso machines have revolutionized the way baristas operate in coffee shops, allowing them to focus on other tasks while still producing high-quality espressos. With programmable doses, you can set specific measurements for each shot of espresso, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the brewing process. This feature not only helps save time but also maintains the quality and flavor of the final product. Meanwhile, they can also focus on other tasks such as taking money, steaming milk, or other work tasks.
Volumetric Controls
Volumetric espresso machines with automated features offer a great solution for coffee shops and home users alike. From easy-to-use programmable features, to increased consistency in every cup of espresso, these machines make brewing the perfect cup easier than ever before. When using espresso machines with volumetric pumps, you benefit from their precision. These pumps guarantee accurate water-to-coffee ratios, a key factor in making great espresso.
Dual Manometers
You'll find dual manometers on espresso machines for monitoring brew and steam pressure. The brew pressure gauge checks the resistance from the coffee grounds in the filter basket when the pump is running to ensure optimal extraction. Meanwhile, the steam pressure gauge on heat exchange or dual boiler machines shows the boiler's steam pressure for safety, usually rated at 2.0 bar for structural integrity.
Thermostability
The Caravel units are equipped with thermal stability to the coffee groups which ensure a constant temperature and pre-infusion of the coffee grounds which allows for consistent, balanced shots of coffee.
6.5L Copper Boiler
Copper boilers in espresso machines offer exceptional heat conductivity, ensuring rapid heating and faster recovery times for a quicker startup. Maintaining optimal brewing temperatures is essential for consistently good espresso, and copper's ability to uphold steady temperatures contributes to a consistent brew quality. Additionally, copper's natural antimicrobial properties make it a hygienic choice for espresso machines by inhibiting the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms.
Heat Exchange Espresso Machine
The heat exchange espresso machine is designed to provide a consistent and efficient brewing experience. By utilizing a heat exchange system, the machine is able to simultaneously heat water for brewing and produce steam for frothing milk. This ensures that the temperature of the water remains stable throughout the brewing process, resulting in a flavorful and well-extracted shot of espresso.
The heat exchange system also allows for quick and continuous steaming, making it ideal for busy coffee shops or home baristas looking to create lattes and cappuccinos with ease. With its ability to maintain precise temperature control and deliver powerful steam, the heat exchange espresso machine is a valuable tool for producing high-quality coffee beverages.
Programmable Doses
Set single, double, long and long double espresso doses to perfectly repeat your favorite recipes. At the touch of a button you can extract your programmed shot. Let your baristas concentrate on other tasks while the espresso maker automatically pulls your shots.
Tall Cup Clearance
The Caravel CV machine is designed to accommodate brewing directly into to-go cups, making it perfect for busy coffee shops and cafes. Additionally, the machine features a raised grate for glasses or smaller cups. This combination of convenience and sophistication makes the espresso machine a versatile and practical choice for any establishment looking to serve high-quality coffee beverages.
E61 Group Head
The E61 group head is renowned for its exceptional temperature stability, and this is further enhanced by the 8 pounds of quality brass used in its construction. This substantial amount of brass ensures that heat is evenly distributed throughout the group head, resulting in precise and consistent brewing temperatures.
Cool Touch Steam Wands
With these revolutionary features, you can froth and steam milk without any concerns about getting burned. The cool touch technology ensures that the wand remains at a safe temperature, allowing you to focus on creating the perfect espresso drinks without any worries. Say goodbye to accidental burns and hello to a more enjoyable coffee-making process with our state-of-the-art espresso machine.
Rotary Pump for Quieter Operations
Rotary pump espresso machines offer many advantages, especially for home usage. Its low noise level is a key benefit, ensuring a quieter espresso experience. Rotary pumps have a longer lifespan of approximately 15 years, making them a reliable option for long-term use and reducing the need for frequent replacements. Additionally, they provide more consistent pressure and achieve quick pressure buildup compared to vibratory pump.

Advisory
Install a water filtration system to maintain consistent water quality and extend the life of your espresso machine.
What This Means
Water that’s too hard → scale buildup, reduced performance
Water that’s too soft → flat, dull espresso
Improper water can damage internal components over time
Machine-Specific Considerations
Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides
What are the electrical requirements for the Fiamma Caravel 2 Group Compact (voltage, phase, breaker)?
The Fiamma Caravel 2 Group Compact runs on 220-240V power, hardwired on a dedicated circuit and drawing 15.4-16.8A. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician per local code; a 120V configuration is not available for this model.
Does this machine need to be plumbed to water, or does it have an internal reservoir?
Some Caravel configurations come with a plumbed water inlet (recommended for busy cafes) while others offer an internal reservoir for light use or locations without plumbing. Check the model options and choose plumbed for continuous service; if using a reservoir, plan for frequent refilling and proper water filtration.
What is the recommended grinder and portafilter size for optimal espresso extraction?
A commercial quality burr grinder with stepless or fine-adjustment dosing is recommended to match the machine's grouphead performance. Commercial machines commonly use 58 mm portafilters, but sizes can vary — verify the exact portafilter diameter and recommended dose in the product spec sheet before buying a grinder or replacement accessories.
How much daily maintenance and cleaning does the Fiamma Caravel require?
Daily tasks include backflushing the groupheads with detergent (if the groups are serviceable for backflush), cleaning and purging steam wands after each use, wiping drip trays and group gaskets, and checking water/bean supply. Weekly and monthly tasks include deeper grouphead cleaning, replacing shower screens or gaskets as needed, and descaling according to local water hardness. Follow the manufacturer maintenance schedule and use authorized service for periodic checks.
What kind of warranty and service support is available in the United States?
Coffeeionado backs the Fiamma Caravel 2 Group Compact with 24 months of parts coverage. Reach out to our team directly for any warranty service or parts needs.
How many drinks per hour can this 2‑group compact machine reliably produce?
A well-configured 2-group commercial machine like the Caravel can comfortably handle moderate to high café traffic — generally several dozen to over a hundred espresso-based drinks per hour — when paired with a good grinder and trained baristas.
Are there any special installation requirements (ventilation, water treatment, location clearances)?
Yes — plan for a level, stable countertop with sufficient clearance for service access, adequate ventilation for heat/steam, and a nearby water supply or space for a reservoir. Install a proper water filtration system to protect boilers and reduce scaling; some suppliers require specific water treatment for warranty validity. Confirm site requirements with the dealer and a qualified installer before delivery.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.
At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.
Which Machines Qualify
Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.
If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.
What's Included
Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself
Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.
How Installation Is Arranged
Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:
Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.
Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.
We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.
What's Not Included
The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:
Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation
Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.
Water Filtration Requirement
Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.
If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.
Service Area
Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.
Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.
After Installation
Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.
Governing Terms
This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.
Can I pick up the machine at your store?
We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.
However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
