A café’s reputation is built on what happens when the line hits the door and the steam wands don't stop for two hours. The Cafe Racer is a deliberate choice to prioritize thermal stability over the simpler, cheaper path of a heat exchanger. Utilizing a Multi-Boiler System removes the guesswork from the morning rush, ensuring the tenth shot of the hour mirrors the first. It signals to anyone standing at your counter that you are running a serious coffee program, not just a service business.
Product Features
Adjustable Pre-Infusion
The Soft Pre-Infusion Flow Active System lets you precisely control water flow and pre-infusion time to tailor volumetric profiles. Programmable pre-infusion improves shot consistency and reduces variability across different coffees during rush periods.
Multi-Boiler System
Independent boilers for brewing and steaming provide competition-level thermal stability. The Café Racer uses individual 17lb / 8kg steel heating chambers for each group with PID electronic temperature control so extraction temps remain steady during continuous, high-volume service.
Smart-Touch Control
Integrated Smart-touch Control and individual digital screens on each group let baristas view and change pressures, temperatures and group settings in real time. Fast, on-the-fly adjustments speed workflow and reduce training time at peak service.
Cool-Touch Steam Wands
AISI 316L stainless steel “cool touch” steam wands include anti-burning technology and high-performance 'Latte art' tips to stay comfortable during extended use. That durability keeps milk service moving and minimizes operator fatigue during long shifts.
Energy-Saving Insulation
The machine’s Energy-Saving System is insulated to cut energy use by up to 40%, lowering utility costs across a busy service day. The insulation preserves thermal stability so steaming and brewing performance aren’t compromised.
Volumetric Automation & Pump
Programmable Volumetric Controls automate consistent shot volumes while the High-Performance Volumetric Pump maintains stable pressure across multiple groups. Together they streamline throughput and keep extraction consistent during peak demand.
The Coffeeionado Take
Who's It For:
Established specialty cafés — Multi-boiler architecture and saturated group heads deliver the independent temperature control needed when your menu features both a house blend and rotating single origins
Roasteries with in-house service bars — Pressure profiling and programmable volumetric dosing let you showcase different roast profiles with precision your wholesale customers can taste
Coffee training centers and academies — The combination of advanced controls and thermal stability makes this an ideal platform for teaching extraction theory on commercial hardware
Right For You If:
You are pulling 150–300 drinks a day and need independent boiler control so your espresso and milk drinks are never competing for thermal resources.
Your baristas understand extraction variables and you want them to program and save profiles for different beans, not just dose and tamp.
You have 220–240V power and direct plumbing, and you are ready to invest in a machine that rewards skilled operation.
Things to Consider:
Multi-boiler precision comes with a 40-75 minute warm-up — plan your morning routine accordingly.
This machine rewards trained baristas behind the bar — plan for some onboarding time if your team is still building fundamentals, so you get full value from the advanced controls.
The compact two-group footprint is a real space saver, but the dual-boiler system is heavier than an equivalent HX machine — verify your counter can support the weight.
Our Take:
The Cafe Racer is Sanremo saying you can have multi-boiler precision in a package that does not take over your bar — the thermal stability alone justifies the jump from HX if your menu demands it. If your café has moved past basic consistency and you want your equipment to keep up with your ambition, this is where the investment starts paying off.

Coffee Delivery System (CDS)
The CDS pioneered by Sanremo gives the barista greater control. With the CDS you can control all three phases of extraction (pre-infusion, infusion, post-infusion) and adjust for different parameters.
Automatic Espresso Machine
Automatic espresso machines have revolutionized the way baristas operate in coffee shops, allowing them to focus on other tasks while still producing high-quality espressos. With programmable doses, baristas can set specific measurements for each shot of espresso, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the brewing process. This feature not only helps save time but also maintains the quality and flavor of the final product. Meanwhile, they can also focus on other tasks such as taking money, steaming milk, or other work tasks.
Efficiency to Perform
The Café Racer has a multi-boiler system that separates the water circuits, allowing the machine to generate steam and simultaneously maintain optimal control parameters for the extraction of coffee in terms of temperature and pressure, one espresso after another, during long periods of operation and intense workload.
Thermostability
Exclusively designed by Sanremo, the grouphead is manufactured from AISI 316 Stainless Steel. This, coupled with the multi-boiler system, ensures highly accurate thermal stability and maximum resistance to oxidation and lime scale in the group.
Multi-boiler System
The advanced multiboiler technology guarantees unparalleled thermal accuracy through its sophisticated 4-point temperature PID control system. This results in precise temperature management and time efficiency: In bustling coffee establishments, the use of multi-boiler systems enables baristas to simultaneously extract espresso shots, froth milk, and dispense hot water, leading to quicker and more efficient customer service.
Temperature Control
The coffee boiler is equipped with a sophisticated temperature control system that ensures its stability by applying the machine’s memory of use and modifying the parameters according to forecasts based on the available information. Precision setting to 0.1 C.
Volumetric Controls
Volumetric espresso machines with automated features offer a great solution for coffee shops and home users alike. From easy-to-use programmable features, to increased consistency in every cup of espresso, these machines make brewing the perfect cup easier than ever before. When using espresso machines with volumetric pumps, you benefit from their precision. These pumps guarantee accurate water-to-coffee ratios, a key factor in making great espresso.

Improper water can damage internal components over time
Machine-Specific Considerations
Some machines (especially with stainless steel boilers) require stricter limits on chlorides
Does the Sanremo Dolomiti Cafe Racer 2 Group have a rotary pump or a vibratory pump?
The Sanremo Cafe Racer 2 Group is equipped with a commercial‑grade rotary pump, designed for consistent pressure delivery, quieter operation, and reliable performance in high‑volume environments.
Is the Cafe Racer 2 Group a direct‑connect (plumbed‑in) machine, or can it run from a water tank?
The Cafe Racer 2 Group is designed as a direct‑connect commercial machine and must be plumbed into your water line. It does not include an onboard water reservoir for tank operation.

Please note, any discounts subject to void the paid installation offer.
At Coffeeionado, professional installation is included with qualifying espresso machine purchases. Our goal is to make the process as seamless as possible — from coordinating the technician to getting your machine up and running on day one.
Which Machines Qualify
Free professional installation is included with all espresso machines of 2 groups or more where indicated on the product listing. This policy applies to espresso machines only and does not cover other coffee equipment such as grinders, brewers, or accessories.
If you are unsure whether your machine qualifies, contact us before purchasing and we'll confirm.
What's Included
Travel and labor costs for installation within the technician's service area (up to 2 hours of travel)
Setup, basic programming, and commissioning of the equipment
Scheduling during regular business hours, Monday through Friday
Associated taxes and fees related to the installation itself
Installation must be completed within 30 days of delivery of the equipment. The installation benefit lapses after this window and cannot be reinstated.
How Installation Is Arranged
Depending on your purchase, installation is handled one of two ways:
Arranged directly — In many cases, Coffeeionado or the manufacturer will coordinate and pay the technician on your behalf. We will contact you after your order is processed to schedule the visit.
Reimbursement — In some cases, you may be asked to arrange the installation locally using an authorized technician and submit a rebate form for reimbursement. Once approved, the covered amount will be refunded to the original payment method used for your order.
We will confirm which arrangement applies to your purchase at the time of order confirmation. If you have questions before purchasing, contact us and we'll walk you through it.
What's Not Included
The following are outside the scope of the installation policy and remain the customer's responsibility:
Travel or callout costs beyond the first 2 hours of the technician's travel time — if your location falls outside the local service area, the overage is your responsibility
Water filtration systems and installation materials — including plumbing fittings, tubing, plugs, outlets, and any other ancillary components required to prepare the site
Electrical or plumbing work — site preparation must be completed before the technician arrives
Training on equipment operation — installation covers commissioning only, not barista or operational training
False start or callout fees if the technician arrives and the site is not ready for installation
Important: If a technician arrives and cannot complete the installation because the site is unprepared, you will be responsible for any callout or false start fee charged by the technician. However, your installation benefit remains intact — the visit will be rescheduled at no additional cost to your policy.
Water Filtration Requirement
Water filtration must be installed and operational before or at the time of installation. This is not optional — operating a commercial espresso machine without proper filtration will void the manufacturer's warranty. If filtration is not in place at the time of the technician's visit, installation may need to be rescheduled and the callout fee will be your responsibility.
If you need guidance on water filtration requirements for your machine, contact us before scheduling your installation.
Service Area
Installation coverage is tied to the manufacturer's authorized technician service area, generally within a 1.5-hour radius of the nearest certified technician. If your location falls outside this area, Coffeeionado will make reasonable efforts to arrange a local authorized technician, but travel costs beyond the 2-hour coverage limit remain your responsibility.
Not sure if you're in a service area? Contact us before purchasing and we'll check your location.
After Installation
Once your machine is installed, we'll provide referrals for authorized service technicians in your area for ongoing maintenance and repairs. Coffeeionado offers lifetime support on all equipment we sell — we're here long after the install is done.
Governing Terms
This installation policy forms part of your agreement with Coffeeionado and is subject to our Terms of Sale and Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, the Terms of Service governs.
Can I pick up the machine at your store?
We do not have a showroom or storefront for customer pickups, so orders cannot be picked up directly from us. That said, there is an exception for La Spaziale and La Pavoni products, you can contact us to arrange.
However, if you'd prefer, we can arrange to have your machine shipped to a local freight terminal/location for pickup instead. Let us know your city/state (or ZIP code), and we’d be happy to check the nearest terminal options for you.
